So I've had my 08 Roomster since 2012 and was hoping to see the end of it this summer but the misses somehow got another new car, again.... So anyway I'm stuck with it now for a while, expecially since new pads n disks n tyres all round for mot ££££

 

Its not not worth much these days and has been abused by my kids, dogs and work too.

 

means I'm keeping it I want to make it fun so am gonna do some messing, nothing stupid but mainly pointless to make it mine, think 90's max power mag lol, spoiler, lowered, vinyl wraps, fake carbon, spacers, induction kit. All the sticky on bits for the classy all show no go styling.

 

itll all be on the cheep and slow to do.

 

its the good ole 1.6 16v so actual power gains and engine tuning is basically impossible, plus tiptronic so there's that too.

 

i ain't no mechanic and have limited tools too so should be fun.

So my first "mod" is changing the aerial to a 80cm halfords special, non amplified including new base, bit of wire bodging in the roof void and now I get every station available for the first time since I got this pinicle of modern engineering. 

Thought it was just the aerial mast as that was grotty but the replacement bee sting (what was I thinking? Bee sting to improve signal!) didn't make any difference I new I needed a new base too and a long aerial. I think big aerials should be the future of car styling now.

I have swapped the rear interior roof light from the single bulb type for a three bulb type like the front one. Fitted led all round, fronts are all ice blue white which I'll be changing to match the rear with thevproper blue spots as its too bright and I like the very blue hue this set up gives though maybe not the cleanest look? 

I know I know I need to calm down with these crazy mod

PolishII finally finished removing my door trim and rear roomster badge. Looks much better imo, the newer ones were like this from factory so updates mine nicely I think. 

That us apart from the mess I made removing them haha, seriously though not funny, think I'll try wet sand it

I tried this wet sanding and compounding lark, by hand. Outcome is I need to by a machine! Hard work without the on and off stop play for rain this weekend. 

Ill get there but wanted it done before holidays but oh well.

I was a bit scared of the sanding so only used 2500 grit, looking at it I really need to hit some areas with 1500 next time I try as some of these marks look untouched. Just hope I don't go through the clear...

Looks exactly like mine, did have all blue at one time, i also had amber at another time.

I bought another set of diff brand blues for the front to match the rear, is it my eyes or something...... I'm keeping it though, love it. 

Blue and green should always be seen right?
