Last night I fitted a DTUK tuning box.  What a difference.

I have just purchased a DSG superb and am likely to be doing a lot of miles. How did this change your MPG and performance ? Any insurance issues ?

Chucked a bucket of water over it. Three hours later this is the result.         Happy with that

Hey IrishDave. Curious where you got the boot net from.

eBay pal, £9.10 great bit of kit.

Finally put some fuel in before prices rise. Not put any in yet 160MPG is not too bad 🙂

Wow. Great value. Do you have the link as I can't see any that are guaranteed to fit the hatch superb ?

Sorry, i just got lucky as a fella bought the set and never used them. Great bit of kit though.

I didn't notice a difference in MPG, it was a lot more powerful.  Not in-your-face power that pinned you in your seat, more gradual and refined.

I can't remember who my insurance was with, but they were happy with it.  I don't think they even charged me any extra.

I ended up selling it though, I'd get the odd engine check light.  ODBeleven told me it was the overboost sensor and it got a little annoying.

Given the difficulty of sourcing the facelift tail lights, and the astronomical prices to get a set landed in here in Oz, I improvised n did my own Chrome stripe across the back of the car.

It's subtle, n sits perfectly on the lip without interfering with the light stripes, nor the RVC.

I also did the same with the lower door trims, as I've seen on Sportline (black) and some L&K (chrome) models.

Fitted the rear tunnel mat supplied by @penguin17 FOC and after 700 miles in a week it needed a clean.

OK I'll bite.

What's with Audi wheels / Wheel badges?

Bought them 2 years ago to increase the track width of my Vrs245 as they are 8.5J wide as apposed to the 7.5J Octavia rims. Also fitted 235 tyres instead of the 225 tyres on the Vrs. They are Audi RS6 replicas but only 19". Had them repainted silver back in February and they are straight swap for the 8J x 19" Vega Sportline wheels which I have now put on the wife's Karoq SEL which had factory 18" Bragas. I like the Audi centre caps although I understand most would prefer the Skoda badges but when I am sat at traffic lights if an Audi pulls up alongside they get really confused particularly if I floor it.

I had a base line dyno run booked for today so I can start with the real at wheel output and rate against the stage 1 next options I am weighing up. The dyno operator commented that it was running at 0.9bar which I take it is low. I will confess i'm not up with turbo technicals, the last time i was modding my cars involved a 12 port head and 3 weber's 😶

Would spacers not been a cheaper route for a wider track or was it just the best option to achieve a solution on multiple cars?

I'm about to change my wheel centre cap badges which are suffering the all too common corrosion problem. Mine will stay the Skoda black/silver emblem variety although I did flirt with the idea of finding a different centre cap design altogether & of better quality to avoid having to do it all over again in a few years time. In the end I stuck with some cheaper one from Amazon🤞

My 200kwh Superb Sportline 2019 went upto 268kwh at 6,000rpm with a stage 1 map and the torque went from 369nm at 4,500rpm to 514nm at just 2,800rpm running Shell V-Power Nitro+ which in the UK is 99 octane or the best available pump fuel (along with Tesco Momentum).

Not a fan of spacers particularly if you do a bit of track day stuff as it puts extra stress on the wheel bolts and wheels when you're really pushing it. Will probably fit 245 tyres to the wider than standard rims when I wear out the current Michelins which are excellent (48mpg on a recent trip to the Lake District and over 44mpg on the whole 500 mile weekend trip).

Makes my current 24.3mpg look a bit lame but that's purely down to all local stop start driving. Looking forward to a longer run somewhere to see what it's capable off.

Best tank I have managed is 626 miles but 730 is the absolute maximum on a decent length journey.

Do you run in ECO mode most of the time?

Yes I like the coasting function when you lift off that drops the revs to about idle (800rpm) but on the M6 I used ACC and climate control was on. Set the ACC to 61mph which is quite slow as we set off early and when we reached the Hotel our room hadn't been cleaned and we were told it would take another 2 hours so went for a short walk of 13.5 miles (21.6km). If you need to overtake the 514nm of torque at 2,800rpm gives plenty of go even in Eco mode. I find Sport a bit Banzai now I am 55 years old. Best saved for track days.

Coincidentally these arrived in the post just now. Surprisingly they have a reference to Germany on the back which is not shown on the Amazon page pics. Probably a marketing ploy for a Chinese factory somewhere.

I'll see how they fit a bit later. Whether they last is another matter but for £19 on Amazon not too bad.

I just filled up (1/2 a tank) with 99 Momentum, reset the display & drove like a nun for a bit & got it up to 35mpg since refuel in 7 miles. I then blew it by a little sprint on a dual carriageway - it's now reading 22mpg 😒

I have great control over the loud pedal. Commuting 54 miles per day pays to drive in a frugal manner.

I guess that's part of my problem. I no longer have to commute anywhere so when I do get out in it it's a bit more of a novelty than it was when I was doing an 88 mile daily grind up & down the M1.

I will try the Eco coast mode though.

Wife now works from home so doesn't use her Karoq as much as she used to so my mileage is split 162 miles in the Superb and 162 miles in the Karoq. I get over 50mpg in the Karoq (148bhp petrol) on every commute. Before I join the motorway driving the Superb I'm only getting 26mpg in 30/40/50mph speed limit roads (5 miles).

"the coasting function" @shyVRS245 - can you expand on that?
Anything that makes my regular 136mile journey more economical gets my vote.

(rushes off to scour manual for "coasting function")
