Can someone please explain to me how the DTUK® Pedal Box works ? where you plug it ? I have the 190 diesel, does it increase the power or just the response ?

What is the difference between the normal and the plus variant ?

Thank you!

I have it (pedal box standard) on a 190 diesel and like I mentioned, the car takes off immediately without any hesitation. The sport and sport+ modes are a bit ridiculous for me, I run on the City+3. If you are going for the DTUK, then the standard version will do the work and there is no need to spend more. It doesn't add power but it feels like you have more power since the delivery of it is instant compared to the standard throttle setup.

I'm considering DTUK Pedal Box for my 190 DSG. Here they're easy to fit but I'm a duffer when it comes to DIY. Anyone have any photos showing fitting procedure so a numpty like me could fit it?

I think they may have a you tube channel that shows u how to fit. Basically unplug throttle pedal connector and it plugs into pedalbox which in turn plugs back into the connector on the pedal.

A monkey with 3 fingers could fit one, very simple but very effective mod, one of the best bang for buck mods you can do, feels like the car has been partially remapped is the best way I can describe it can't understand why VAG have handicapped all their cars with such slovenly throttle responses, previous generation cars didn't suffer with this!

I was kind of hoping for some tips on where to hide the trailing wires etc and where to fix the control unit such as storing it in driver's side cubby hole without having to remove half of the fittings to feed wiring through.

It’s a doddle. Once you have the module in your hand and you look into the footwell it will be fairly obvious where everything goes.

Theres some plastic trim on the right hand side that you can tuck the unit into, and any excess cable.

(The Racechip XLR box has two modules, one for user control and another which is the ‘brain’. Other boxes may just have a single control/module)

The cubby on the right of the steering wheel has a retaining ‘lip’ at the rear, open the cubby and you’ll see what’s keeping it in place. Apply a little pressure and you’ll free it. The plastic is quite flexible.  Once that’s out the way you can feed the control unit up from the footwell and reseat the cubby.

Everything hidden from view but accessible should you wish to change settings or remove it altogether

This gives you an idea of install:-

It does indeed bit it assumes I have already removed the accelerator pedal. Anyone got photos instructions how I get to the wiring gubbins?

U dont remove the pedal. It is as simple as it shows in the video, unplug and plug into the pedal box which plugs into the plug for your pedal

Okay. Finally managed to work it out. It was a little awkward trying to unlip the connections and reattach but it seems to be playing okay.  I fed the control box up behind the back of the facia in footwell and up through the cubby hole, firstly by removing the drawer and prising out the small plastic panel on the left of the draw itself and then popped the draw back in - HUA!!!

Just a quick one - once fitted is it best to revert to the Skoda setting in VCDS or leave it set to Audi?

I use mine with all the VCDS changes still in place.

Dark Sun, Did you get your throttle box?  Interested to know how you rate it.
