Rear Diffuser options for vRS?

Featured Replies

So i am wanting to get a rear diffuser for MY15 vRS but there doesnt seem to be too many options for the vRS models, mainly the RIEGER....

 or the Maxton Design one....

For me the Rieger is a little too sutle doesn't have enough fins on it and the Maxton one a bit too OTT, is there any other makes about that are in between these 2??

They seem to be the main 2 I have seen on here, though I'm sure a member has a "cup" one. I have Rieger one and it's great quality. I agree it is quite subtle (partly why I wanted it) so if that's not what you want then best to look at others.

There is the Skoda cup one as well. Personally I love the Rieger and once I’ve removed the ugly fixed towbar I’ll be putting my order in for one :)

Yeah i cant seem to find any good pics of the cup one.

Ive just seen this one my milotec that might fit the bill....

I've had the Rieger one sitting in my office for over 4 months now.

Ordered the Front spliiter and rear diffuser from online-autosport on ebay.

They sent me two splitters. They collected one of the splitters. Sent me a new diffuser. It was the TSI not TDI version*. Still waiting on the missing part as Germany shuts down for August.

I've heard nothing from them in ages. I think I've gone beyond patient and landed firmly in mug...

Will email them again now.

* includes an exhaust attachment so that you don't melt the diffuser.

I've got the genuine cup edition splitter and rear diffuser on mine

the Cup and the Reiger are very similar, the maxton is more in-yer-face but the design is bad and it doesnt sit very well on the bumper, it looks rough up close as well (i didnt like it and swapped it for the Reiger).

i chose the Reiger but put my own twist on it by getting rid of the reflector and dipping it, the cup spoiler will need the removal of the reflector anyway as its taller.

thats an insert to the original diffuser so should be cheaper too.

the benefit of the Reiger is they offer a towbar friendly option too that hides the towbar completely, with the others you cant fit a towbar at all.

As you can see you wouldnt even know i have a towbar fitted without looking very closely.

To be fair dont think id ever use a tow bar (havent used one in over 15 years).

So you've actually had a milotec diffuser JohnnyType2 then, was it that bad?

No the Maxton diffuser.... the first post. it was hard to fit and i couldnt get it to sit right. There was clear daylight between the fins and original diffuser, it had sticky 3M tape to hold the fins on place so not too secure and i can imagine the temptation to a delinquent stand on it as it sticks out so far. The fins were rough as well, it just didn't look good quality at all.

That must be a different version they list on superskoda as the picture towards the top of this thread is clearly on a vRS!?

i think superskoda had a big barny with milotec and refuse to stock any of their products and are just slowly selling off the milotec stock that they had.  you would probably need to buy it direct

IMHO the cup and Reiger versions are much better looking and the piano black is a better finish.

That Maxton diffuser looks awful IMO.

Well the quesion is, if we go with "DTM diffusor OCTAVIA CUP" from Superskoda, is it going to be a good match with "Octavia III RS - front bumper DTM spoiler - GLOSSY BLACK - V1" and  "side skirts DTM V3X - GLOSSY BLACK" and "rear bumper side splitters DTM - Glossy Black"  ? Is the Octavia CUP diffuser the same/similar "glossy type" ?
Or does "Rieger Glossy Diffuser" match the rest of the bodykit better ?

they look very similar, the rieger has rounder edges the cup is more angular and you need to the cup spoiler 'glue' it to the car, the rieger is a bolt on and you retain the reflectors. the cup removes the reflectors. I dipped my reflectors and went with the rieger as i like the softer edges

ahaaa I see it now. Thanks for clarification

TBH, after owning the Rieger, the pics don't make justice to it - it looks just perfect live.

Completely agree. I know you had this on your VRS estate, but did you go for something similar on your Cupra?

IS the RIEGER Rear Bumper easy to fit, do you need to remove anything from the car before fitting?

It's a diffuser/bumper insert and the only thing needing removal is the stock one! It's fairly straightforward, old one clips out but can be a bit reluctant to release. New one slots in + drilling two holes which are out of sight plus screws to secure.

I'm by no means a DIY god and I managed to do it myself in an hour or two.

from memory you have to drill one hole on the left side the rest is torx screws.

Reviving this topic as I'm looking to go Rieger. Where did you still the holes and are there instructions for it?
