Hesitation on acceleration and ESP blinking

Featured Replies

For a couple of minutes, my 2.0 TDI 4x4 DSG, couldn't accelerate and to exceed 30km/h. In this time, the ESP blinked several times.

Please see the following video I recorded:

The problem happened until second 30. In this time I was trying to accelerate, but without success. After that, it recovered itself and the issue didn't reproduce.

My impression was that something was breaking the car.

I don't have any error shown by the vehicle status check.

Do you have any idea what happened? Did someone encountered a similar problem?

What tyres are fitted, and what have you got the tyre pressures at?

Is the road surface slippy hence you are struggling for traction?

Check the tyre tread depths, on the 4x4 if the tyres are unevenly worn then the outside circumference is not the same

If get more than about 2.5mm difference, then Haldex can get confused as wheels rotating at different speed

My guess is a bit of slippage took place, but was just marginal, tried to apply the ESP to correct it but couldn't get wheels rotating at exactly same speed

The road was dry and with tarmac. There were no slip conditions at all.

I will check the tyre usage too.

@Vectis, your problem seems to be the same as mine! Also in my case, the problem appeared after starting to drive.

Did you have the phone connected on Android Auto and maybe in a call at that time?

Did the problem reproduce?

Have you been to the service for a diagnosis?

I have the 18" Bridgestone and I have never checked the tyre pressure from the moment I bought the car on the 2nd of June. I have almost 6000km.

I will check it.

Not smart really is it trusting the tyre pressures to the fitter or technician that PDI'd the car and checked and adjusted or not the tyres from them leaving the factory.

Resetting the TPMS as well.

Last week I was at the service for a check of the errors I mentioned in this topic. Unfortunately, there was no error logged, but also it did not reproduce until now.
