Skoda Superb Canton Subwoofer Upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have some thoughts in my head about upgrading the subwoofer in my S3 ( I have the Canton fitted - but want to have more solid BASS ). I searched in the threads - but could not find anything. For Octavia 2/3 - there are good solutions for subwoofer boxes like  www.basser.pl but i cannot find anything like this ready for Superb 3. Does someone knows some solutions or guides for mounting the new speaker in the left part of the trunk - at the place of the factory one ? I will only use the cables with the "signal" - and will have to place new power cords to the amp and some Line Out converter to lower the already amplified signal.

Thanks in advance for the support.

Canton is bassy enough for me!

Check octavia forum, im sure it was there were i saw a post where someone has done an upgrade. He is an audio guy.

Im sure it must be similar to do on superb

Yes - i know this topic. They use the same site for the subwoofer closed box - www.basser.pl

I am looking for something like this - but for Superb 3 - and on this site there is no such product for S3 - there is for S2 - O2, O3 - but for us - there is no option.

Have you contacted them to ask their advice?

Perhaps something for the VW Passat may be compatible?

Yes - i am still waiting for their feedback. I suppose they do not have anything for Superb 3V - otherwise they should have already posted it in their web shop. But - we will see....

+1.  i too find it plenty bassy, and clean for me :)

it also worth noting, with regards to the Canton Speaker system, the following differences across the Skoda models:-

Octavia 1x 25W, 4 ohm, 90mm - 2x 100W, 8 ohm, 168 mm 2x 100W, 4 ohm, 168 mm 4x 20W, 4 ohm, 25 mm 2x 45W, 2 ohm, 168 mm 570W, 10 channels
Superb 1x 25W, 4 ohm, 80mm 2x 25W, 4 ohm, 80 mm 2x 45W, 2 ohm, 168 mm 2x 100W, 8 ohm, 151 mm 4x 20W, 4 ohm, 25 mm 2x 45W, 2 ohm, 168 mm 610W, 12 channels
Karoq 1x 25W, 4 ohm, 80mm - 2x 80W, 8 ohm, 168 mm 2x 100W, 8 ohm, 151 mm 4x 20W, 4 ohm, 25 mm - 570W, 10 channels
2x 45W, 2 ohm, 168 mm
Kodiaq 1x 25W, 4 ohm, 80mm - 2x 100W, 8 ohm, 168 mm 2x 100W, 8 ohm, 151 mm 4x 20W, 4 ohm, 25 mm 2x 45W, 2 ohm, 168 mm 570W, 10 channels

According to https://www.canton.de/en/skoda-en Superb Woofers in front doors are 2x 100W:

Simple upgrade is to cover subwoofer box with noise dampering material. I covered trunk side with silent coat 2mm and bass got more punchier.

I mean the one in the trunk (boot). What does it mean that it is 2x8 ohm, 2 x 100W ? I thought there is one bass speaker in the trunk...

it uses dual channel voice coils - hence the 2x 8 ohm.

I have just been playing around with the equaliser, that has woken up the system!!!

Sounds GOOOOD!!!!!
