vRS MY19 Orders

Featured Replies

Hi. This is my very first post on here (apologies if it is in the wrong place!).

Has anyone else ordered a MY19 vRS? Specifically a diesel?

I placed a PCH order for an Estate DSG back a couple of months ago, but have had nothing from the dealer since. They are being really vague about delivery now, blaming WLTP tests. Am getting nervous now that I won't get my car in time for my old PCH going back!

I work for a leasing broker and WLTP is causing a major **** storm.

Who is your PCH with and have you been given any details on estimates etc?

It's possible that your current PCH can be extended and you could potentially be entitled to compensation however that depends on what they have told you so far.

Thanks for the reply.

It is through my local Skoda dealership. I chased yesterday and was told they can't give me a confirmed date yet due to WLTP and they are looking at it daily. This was via email. Hoping to speak to them today. They are being very evasive.

My old PCH is with Nissan finance. Letter I got last week to arrange handing it back suggest extensions are not allowed.

If your PCH is not extendable, then you need a replacement on (or just before) a specific date

The dealer can waffle as much as he likes about waiting for dates, but ultimately they are currently not in a guaranteed position to meet your date.

Maybe they will be lucky and something will arrive in time, but if it was me I would be looking at getting a backup plan confirmed even if that means renting/borrowing an ex demo from them until your car is delivered

If they aren't able to agree to keep you mobile, then you will need to cancel the order and order something (from whatever brand) that is already built, WLTP certified, an available by the date you need it.

Don't let them fob you off by saying awaiting WLTP certification, you don't know if that will be done in 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months, sometime in 2019, or whenever (and it make still take 3-4 months for new production to arrive after that).  Whats more you have no idea how many other customers (from whole of Europe) are in the backlog queue ahead of you.

Just spoken to dealership. Now telling me that expected earliest delivery is March. Can't order the car for 16 weeks in the hub.

Back to square 1!

I would be discussing with them as per John's suggestion that if they can't provide you with an alternative vehicle in between hand, then you will need to cancel and seek alternatives via an alternative manufacturer, unless you can of course, sort something out your self.

Does anyone have any experience of leasing from anywhere other than main dealers? Nationwide etc. are they any good?

That's what have done. They can't provide one, as of yet. Don't think they will be able to in fact. Didn't seem too bothered that I would be cancelling. Biggest problem is I need a car by 30th Nov at the latest. I do large milage so PCH is best option, plus don't have deposit for PCP or similar.

Best go get a car that is in the country and can be first registered as a 68 plate which means it is WLTP Approved,

unless it was built before June 2018 and is able to be registered under Derogation Rules.

Looks like you will have to go away from Skoda.

Try VW.

Would be interested in a Golf Estate, but that is not listed on that page. Thanks for the idea though. Really set on a VAG vehicle as want the DSG.

Has anyone ever used Nationwide Vehicle Contracts before?

Yes,

and they get 4.3 out of 5 from their customers they say.   What can they offer you?

Well, just looking online they have the car I want (though guessing it is a MY18, so no virtual cockpit) but haven't got in touch to see what the delivery times are like.

In terms of their procedures and returning the car, were they fair and decent to deal with?

Yes I leased a Yeti for 2 years, I used Claris for the deal, but was actually through VW finance at Claris were more like an arrangement broker matching cars to customers than the actual finance company

Use this site as a search facility (effectively a comparison website)

https://leasing.com/

If you require a car in November, I would be looking at stock cars only (from memory the definition of 'in stock' varies by company, some seem to use a very broad definition that is more like 'on order' rather than sitting in a compound awaiting a customer) so double check that the car is actual available.     using keywords vRS and ticking in stock only it only shows KG leasing and Go Green Leasing   so looks like limited stock

They have come back to me with an offer on a Superb Sportline that is in stock...

Depending on its spec, I’d take that.

I take it that is a Superb Sportline registered now on a 18 plate.

It is a Moon White Sportline Hatch. Only fitted option is the electric boot. It is in the showroom now. Can hold it until I need it.

Going in to test it next week. Think will go for it. Actually cheaper than the Octavia.

  • 4 weeks later...

Just t add to this thread , having ordered my deisal Octavia 4x4 Vrs in May , just been told by the dealer that they cannot confirm a manufacturing date or a delivery this side of Jan/February . This a 30k order cancelled ,Guttered !!!!

At least you can order one - Trying to come back to the vRS fold and it is no longer on the website! :(

I think the point is that you haven't been able to factory order one for ages (nearly a year for the 245). The MY19 models are appearing slowly on the configurator (for example the 190TSi 2.0 cooking models)  so hopefully it won't be too long for the VRS.

A few dealers seeem to have  taken speculative orders for MY19 VRSs, but not sure if any of them have a scooby when they can actually deliver.

Yes.   I got a Fiesta Zetec S for my wife from them, 3.5 years ago.  The whole process was fine with the car being sourced from Bristol Street Ford, in Birmingham.  No issues with delivery or collection.  Straightforward process and the car was in stock ready to go. Bare in mind that Nationwide are just 'middle-men'; Leaseplan were the underwriters for our particular agreement.

I did want to purchase the car at the end of the lease but the underwriter put some ridiculous price on it (£2k over what the equivalent model was selling for on the forecourt). They then declined what I thought was a fair offer; needless to say I arranged collection.  I then found the car on Autotrader for £1000 less than what Leaseplan quoted me (and that would have included %profit for the dealer); no doubt they put that car to auction for much less than I would have paid, not to mention the cost of collection, admin etc.  Ridiculous really as I was later told that my offer was well within the margins allowed and it should have been accepted.  Sounds like someone was just being a tw@7 for the sake of it.

In summary, I'd recommend leasing from Nationwide.
