KESSY button

Featured Replies

Stop start engine button , is really doing my nut in. Stop car handbrake on press KESSY. Nothing , press again , nothing . 4 or 5th attempt it shuts down.

Doesn't happen all the time like this but its very frequent.

Starting is the same , some time 1st time but most 3 or 4 pushes till it starts.

WTF do you put the key if KESSY stops altogether ?

Have u tried a different key? Battery maybe low? If not this, it could have a fault? Get it checked out.

Good idea, ill change the battery and see if that improves.

thx A52tmax

If battery change (actually car should inform you if battery is low) wont help then probably button must be replaced: My car starts/stops now after 1st gentle push after button replacement (under warranty).

I had to change the button itself under warranty. It was working well - while one day i had to press it several times - and realized that if i press it harder - it works. Called the service - they ordered a new button - and it was changed within several minutes.

Try pushing the button harder (with more force) - if it is working from the first time - consider changing the button.

Pleased  someone else mentioned this, thought it was me being an idiot.  Works most of the time but sometimes takes several pushes.  Just rung dealer and booked it in for a diagnostic session.  They require two hours for a diagnostic session.....

The start/stop key changed on warranty on my 2017 Suberb. They told me it is a known problem.
