Door Speakers (Canton) - what impedance? Door Panel Removal - easy or problematic?

Featured Replies

I'm looking to replace my front door speakers (mine came with the 80w Canton upgrade) with higher quality 250w speakers, but Canton's website says the Karoq front door speakers are 8 ohms whereas all the replacement speakers I am considering are 4 ohms and so may cause the underseat amplifier to overheat. Has anyone with the Canton system removed the front door panel to confirm if the fitted speakers are 4 or 8 ohm? And how easy, or not, is it to remove the front door panel so I can see for myself?

Also, the Karoq Canton system is the only skoda/canton upgrade that places the tweeters in the A-Pillars whereas on the Octavia, Kodiaq and Superb they put the tweeters in the doors instead. I'm looking to reposition my tweeters into the doors to tame the exaggerated harsh treble as there is an unused speaker grill by the door handle with Canton on it - is there already a tweeter mounting hole behind this grille? it's tough to tell.

Thanks for your advice!

Oh dear - presume that means don't bother with the Canton Upgrade then!
