What is the exact part no. of your module, mine is 1K0 937 087 A (component: BCM PQ35, H+ 020 0358)

My module details are:

Perhaps it was a feature that was added at some stage... ??

  • Ah, you Laurin & Klement owners, don't realise how good you've got it.   I'll swap my lowly SE with you for a few days, it'll make you appreciate your Superbs all the more, and prevent y

  • Boom! A few clicks and my SE is now an Elegance wannabe!         Thanks to @MarkTB and @langers2k

  • More importantly you have a faulty exterior light, hence the amber 'blown bulb' warning on the dash.

Will give it a try on my SE first thing tomorrow morning!

Wouldn't be the first time, looking at my module, it is way older (letter A compared to your K, any your car is "only" 2 years younger at most)

I assumed it would have been available on all but was surprised as you to see the big step in revisions in such a short space of time.

Now go figure how they put those modules in the cars (if they're all "the same") ... on a similar note, I was exploring how to get the cruise control speed readout to be displayed in the bottom left on the maxidot ... again, several combinations come into play, nothing definite or precise ... it may be due to the instrument cluster, it may be up to the BCM module ... both of them can be flashed, but no one is sure to what (changing either of them is not exactly cheap or simple)

Cruise control display is mostly down to the ECU software. If the cluster has the adaption channel it can support it but only if the ECU sends the right message...

You can flash support on some petrol engines. I've not seen a solution for diesel engines.

Which I have, but I haven't managed to find a confirmation, based on my current instrument cluster and ECU ... if I remember correctly, the instrument panel channel for the speed readout isn't available in VCDS (Error, something, when selected ... same situation with the oil temperature and the added fuel quantity readout)

If the adaptation channel is blocked on the cluster, it's should be  possible to unblock it or force it on by altering the EEPROM just like staging/celebration, oil temperature and fuel quantity.

I don't know how you can check for support in the ECU so even with the cluster sorted, you might have more work to do...

This is only a coding thing, as I activated them on my 2011 SE through VCDS - this is the sequence I posted from the linked topic above:

1. Select control module from VCDS main screen
2. Go into '09- Cent. Electrics'
3. Select 'Coding'
4. Long Coding Helper (if you've not already saved a scan, take a note of the coding before changing)
5. Go to 'Byte 12' and select 'Bit5' (Footwell lights with Terminal 58d active).

Boom! A few clicks and my SE is now an Elegance wannabe!

Lol, welcome to the club!  Not a problem, happy to help.  ;)

@silver1011 - Did you have the footwell lights option in the maxidot before turning on the Terminal 58?

No I never, I should have taken a photo, but 100% it wasn't there, I checked the other day.

I have it reversed, I have the option from when I got the car, but the lights don't work, unless the doors are open (believe me, I've tried every single option there is, and not only on my car) ... seems to me there are fine differences in the features because of the BCM module part no. (or, whether or not someone somehow updated the BCM's firmware - this is usually done at the dealership, if they have a recall or they're trying to fix some other issue on the car)

Mine is a 2011, I'm guessing the BCM is different?

This is what I have...

Same as @MarkTB, or to be more precise - identical (according to both VCDS logs)

I've tried this to death also, and from the information I found it only seems to be supported on FL models.

Which are basically the same car, but with the newer modules, I've managed to find some used compatible BCMs, that have the final letters Q and even AE

My dads FL has the module 1K0 937 087 AN

I tried activating the option on my module but it just doesn't show - must be as @langers2k says and something to do with communication from elsewhere.

Given that choice, I'd opt for the AE. It has a few more pins present as it's a "PQ35 H+" rather than a "PQ35 H". Just double check it's the right frequency for your remote key fobs.

Be warned, you may need to mess about with lighting configuration assuming your byte 18 is 00. A preset *might* be OK but ideally you should use VCP or similar (not VCDS) to copy your light config from the old to the new BCM.

I'm not gonna be changing the BCM just for the footwell lights operating as ambient lights ... a used BCM is 150-200 GBP at the cheapest, without any guarantee the end result will be satisfactory, with much to go wrong on the way ... I'd rather invest in a reversing camera or the BT module+microphone :D

24 minutes ago, langers2k said:

I'll definitely have to get VCP and ODIS in the near future, because it seems to me that if you want something done on the car, you have to do it yourself

It certainly worked when I had a Q and R rev fitted. I now have an AL flashed to BC which also works.

I've also never spent more than £60 on a BCM. There are a couple of AN rev on eBay for ~£100 at the moment or K rev for ~£80 which match the one Silver has.

Something to think about, but I'm currently faced with a problem with my headlights, the turning won't work ... I've replaced the left headlamp module which was faulty, the dealership had it in, they said it is possibly due to the headlight module behind the climate control module, changed that as well, and it still won't let me do the headlight adaptation

Might be worth making a new thread with an autoscan from VCDS showing any fault codes :)

I have a 2014 FL and would also like the cruise control settings on Maxidot.  Had asked the question before in the thread below.  Someone mentioned some VCDS coding but as I don't have it I haven't tested it out.  No idea if any help ?  As you will read my query was raised after driving a new Octavia with the setting shown, and also CC not dropping out when changing up the box.... Not the end of the world I guess....!
