Best oil

Featured Replies

So the book states 5w30 but I'm seeing some recommending 10w40 for my engine as best thoughts please ???

Firstly get oil which is approved to VW 502 00 which Is the VW spec for fixed petrol servicing...

This is NOT a "W" spec.....& in fact if you put your engine etc in Opies oils website or just look up 502 00 grade oil..there will be masses of different "w" grades....

you can even have a 0w40...

It really doesn't matter, it's a petrol and non-turbo so whatever's on offer.

I use Halfords 10W/40 part synthetic.

To the OP....

BITE HIS HAND OFF!!!.....:D

For my petrol Furby (1.4L 74kW BBZ) am using VW 502.00 mid-SAPS oil Kroon-Oil Specialsynth MSP 5W40 during last 11 years / 265'000km.

Oil change every 15'000km / 9 months > oil just drops few mm from dipstick's max level.

3/4 city drive, 1/4 highway, dynamic but not "sporty", -30....+30*C outside during all the year- all ok.
