(*) When Milton Keynes was a new town, following the principles of Welwyn Garden City, and the advertisers were trying to encourage people to go there, they emphasised that it was in the country thus getting away from inner city streets. It was the first place to have a 5-screen cinema, IIRC - unheard of in those days. Walkie will know more of it's rise and rise than I do though.

Walmart has a heck of a bumpy ride from what I read, probably more because it's the biggest rather than that it's done anything worse than a similar store. Is that how it's perceived over there, texasjohn?
