Turns out new beautiful Vision RS is going to be called "Scala". What do you think of the new name? Scala is supposed to represent step up.

 

 

Personally I love the concept and am looking forward to the actual production model. It might be my next favorite Škoda model besides Octavia.

And I like the fact it is going to be plug-in hybrid.

I think the concept model looks great. The name is neither here nor there to me. My worry is, what we’ll get is an evolution of the current Rapid. I know that’s not what is being said will happen, but that’s my fear. 

 

If it looks like the concept, is either hybrid or full electric (which I’m 99.9% sure it won’t be) and has performance similar to the Polo GTI, I’ll have one. Oh, it has to have the ‘quality’ of the Octavia as well. I’m not wanting bargain basement rental car feel like the current Rapid.

They will turn it into something they can make, so bin the wheel/tyres for a start. It looks like a stretched Fabia to me.

Everything I've seen about the Scala so far suggests it will likely be another Rapid. It would be nice to see something a bit smaller in the range than the Octavia that would be a true Golf/Leon rival and maybe even make the next Octavia a bit bigger to maintain the product gap.

 

The Scala is touted as a rival for the Golf and Focus, yet beneath the hype it's being built on the MQB A0 platform used by the current Ibiza, Polo and future Fabia, not the MQB that the Octavia and Golf are currently built on. The existing Rapid is built on a PQ25 variant which also underpinned previous Fabia and older Polo and Ibiza.

Did somebody say Scala …???

 

Ok after reading some Škoda Facebook posts, Scala will eventualy replace Rapid. But new vidoe and picture of Scala with camo, are showing the new car looks boring and nothing agresive looking or exciting as concept car. Which is shame and dissapointing!

My theory is Scala will come in standard boring looks and in exciting RS version.

Sounds like Skoda might be going back to what they can do well.

Basic cars basically for transport.  Hopefully reliable and value for money.  Do not promise more than you can deliver.

After seeing new Skala, I hope they are going to release RS version, as this is blunt and boring front. 
Middle bridge in side is lowered in final version, and looks cheap! They didn't deliver what they shown us in Vision RS. honestly this is disappointing.

There is also tha tpoint, they made once mistake with Octavia, so the facelift had to be uglier then the previous model :P
