Free Charging & Parking in Dundee and elsewhere in Scotland which is renewable electricity rich thanks to the rest of the UK.

But Michelin is leaving, pity they were not sorted to manufacturer tyres for EV's to be rolling the roads of the UK.

  • Too much electricity required for a warning light maybe

  • It only makes sense to switch fuels if you're chopping the car in anyway. Otherwise you'll never make back the preceived saving.

  • Same reason places around Reading have bypasses... would you want to go there?

For the moment. When there are more EV's on the roads than petrol and diesel cars the government will be increasing taxes to make up for the shortfall in taxes.

Yup. I'd be happy if they did introduce charging because it would stop the misuse of charge points by plug in hybrids and folk who just hog a charger to get a freebie

No, but soot from coal-fired power stations in towns should!

75.1 % of our energy was from wind yesterday. It's regularly that sort of level. Coal is virtually non existent as a source of electricity in Scotland now that longannet and Cockenzie have gone

Someone has to get this carry on sorted.

WTF can you not just register your Credit or Debit Card and then buy or get Electricity when you stop to charge a vehicle?

George I swear you are an SNP sleeper agent. This mess exists in England and Wales. In Scotland the government recognised someone had to get a grip and coordinate it. Even in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland the same has happened.

In England and Wales the governments there favoured letting the market decide. It is a shambles as a result.

Which happy clappy have the Scottish Government put in charge of coordinating it?  Will they start and continue til they see it to an end?

i hope not the Ex or present Transport ministers, that will be 4 that can not organise Winter Roads but like appearing with the new equipment they are trialing.

Currently Michael Matheson MSP Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity,  Ex Cabinet Secretary for Justice, after being the Minister for Public Health.

Also hopefully not Transport Scotland. Roy Brennen Chief Executive.

It is impossible i could be a Scottish National Party sleeper agent, i think about things, and pay attention to what is going on and am not blinded by the light

or sooking in the sh!te..

Lets hope they get a move on and spend the money wisely.

Get the projects done on time, and on budget, not like the Forth Crossing opened early and not complete, the Aberdeen By-pass not open and over budget,

the A77 needing duelled and ignored, and the A9 taking decades to just dual all the way.

Why does a village like Aberdeen need a bypass?

Oil Capital of the UK and where the Fish on HGV's have to get passed to head south, and the whisky and spirits that keeps the UK treasury well funded with Duty.

Up to an hour to get in and through and out only 7 miles or so has been a bit much especially if you actually did not need to be near the village.

The trunk road in and through the village was a bit restrictive.

It has some of the worst rush hours congestion i have experienced.  Largely due to the lack of number crossing across the rivers flowing through the city.

A few trips to Dyce when in a hurry and faced with rush hour Aberdeen might educate you

In essence, Aberdeen traffic is fooking horrific.

It is a village but with city volumes of traffic and it doesn't work.

Sadly, there are many, even on this esteemed forum, that lack a sense of humour, or ability to detect it.

Or maybe its just a scottish thing.....;) <- I put that smiley in as a hint, guys!

Some bl00dy loon or quine must have pinched that smiley.

More likely it was a Scouser! :)

Re topic.

Fuel in Aberdeen just across the Brig O' Dee looking cheaper at Asda or Sainsbury.   Not so at Shell.

183,790 population 3rd largest CITY in Scotland you cheeky monkey Xman and i'm not even Scottish.:D

I heard today that one day in October there was 98% of renewable electricity produced in Scotland, enough to power 8 1/4 million homes.

This is good since there is less than 6 million of a population so maybe lots of renewable produced electricity was available to chip shops.

Pfft.....

Swallowfield, Berkshire

Population 1961 (2011 Census)

And yet it still gets the Swallowfield Bypass....

Lamberhurst (was on the A21) - Population ~1550 (interpolated between 2001 and 2011 censuses) when bypassed in 2005. The bypass is easily justified by the benefits it brought to the majority who were using the road rather than visiting the village.

bypass of the year...winner!!!

do you still have a bank and a post office there...

the joke is down here the bypass goes for 20 miles north and then changes to single lane each way for about 20 miles up and down the braes...till it reaches the A30 proper heading towards exeter...

that single lane is the worst hold up

cheers
