Lamberhurst (was on the A21) - Population ~1550 (interpolated between 2001 and 2011 censuses) when bypassed in 2005. The bypass is easily justified by the benefits it brought to the majority who were using the road rather than visiting the village.

small world..literally

  • Too much electricity required for a warning light maybe

  • It only makes sense to switch fuels if you're chopping the car in anyway. Otherwise you'll never make back the preceived saving.

  • Same reason places around Reading have bypasses... would you want to go there?

Decimal point needs to move 2 places to the left unless you managed to put nearly £120 in your tank?ASDA unleaded is way expensive.:D

ASDA beside me ;

Unleaded £1.19

Diesel £1.31

The normal price difference is usually only a few pennies.

Sales of new diesel cars in the UK fell by 21% compared to October 2017 last month which suggests Supermarkets are selling more petrol than diesel.

Last 3 fill-ups at Sainsbury's for standard unleaded for wife's Karoq was £1.229 then £1.189 and last week £1.169 per litre so going in the right direction. Hard to believe this is one of the reasons for civil unrest in France.

The french have always been the greedy man of Europe, wanting their cake and eat it. Farmers and farming subsidies are testament to that, the French wanted that exclusively for themselves.

Now the protesters havenot only got a U turn, but also increases in wages etc etc.

They just pea me off.

They barely work 35 hours a week due to the power of the Unions there. I average 56 hours per week so they would probably call me the "STUPID ENGLISHMAN".:speechless:

And the best bit, the President in his address said that overtime and extra hours worked would be tax free not that anyone would dream of doing more than their 35 hours and the same measure went down like a lead balloon when Sarkozy did it, but he also said that Xmas bonuses would  be tax free and that employers should pay their staff a bonus this year :o. Which was very generous of him - NOT!

Of course it wont be tax free for them, they will have to weigh in another 50 or 60% on top, those that dont pay the state endorsed ransom will find themselves blockaded, pallets being burned outside at the very least, worst case the MD will be kidnapped and the factory/offices destroyed.

Meanwhile diesel costs 8cts a litre less than it did 10 years ago despite the myriad tax increases ever since.

Students striking next Tuesday because despite the biggest capitulation since (well we wont go there) they say it is nowhere near enough, not that they have ever earned a centime in their cossetted lives or ever paid any taxes.

£113.7 Asda brissol

  • 1 year later...

In Leicester Asda and Morrisons are charging £1.027 per litre for unleaded and Sainsbury's £1.029 per litre.

Worcester is a black spot as no Asda or Morrisons sadly.

Tescos charging nearly 107 a litre !

Morrisons in Leicester must have got the price down today then, just not as low as COSTCO.

George you have serious issues trying to prove every post I submit is incorrect. Please give it a rest or I will follow Auric Goldfinger and leave the forum as you are becoming tedious with the nit-picking.
