Fabia vRS v Saxo VTS

Featured Replies

Hello people,

I was on my way back from seeing my relatives today when I had an encounter with a Saxo VTS. Basically he nailed it when overtaking a line of cars on a long straight and I duely followed. I was surprised at the speed of the VTS but was able to keep up (not giving full throttle and only 3/4 power as still running in engine). Is the Fabia quicker than the VTS and have any of you fine fellows encountered one? When I stopped beside him at the traffic lights I think he was shocked at how my vRS had been pushing him along! His face was a picture and I was left with a smug grin :D. Another Skoda surprise, any opinions?

The VTS is like a red rag to a bull especially one with lexus light clusters, a big back box, driven by a Biactol addict being egged on by his hoody wearing mate. That said you bought a Skoda and you should know better ;)

On paper the VTS has a slight edge but having driven both cars on a track, I know the standard Fabia VRS wins on overall drivabillity (Decron waits pensively for the enevitable "Discussion" about to unfold both rubbishing and supporting his claims). They are two very different drives, the Saxo being easier to get going quickly and the Fabia taking a bt more skill but if you have the skill it is quicker.

If you are going to have a crack at every VTS you see, spare a thought for the Saxo driver. He/She is driving a car that has the crash resistance of a crisp packet...

the vts would murder you handling wise but the pig ironed mid range grunt of the fabia will aid over takes

That comment has made my day.......

Cheers

Dave.

I'm not really a racer but on the odd occasion i've been forced to outpull a Saxo VTS from the lights the Furby VRs wins easily in a straight line.

Hold on. these convo's are banned. See pinned thread about it.

Also I would like to say before the octavia brigade get here. Obviously he wasnt trying/bothered (delete as appropriate)

A standard Furby vRS looses to a Saxo VTS on corners and the straights from a standing start. Either you were racing retards or your car is remapped, in which case I agree a vRS would whip a VTS.

sorry i bit too easy then.....

this is why i am sick of these threads, there is no definitive answer to these type of questions as everyones experience is different.

but it does seem a common theme that by the 3rd page of these threads we get someome saying they can out do a Ferrari F430.

Straight to page 3 then " my Furbie will whip a Ferrari 340.....

It really makes me laugh when somebody can't read a post correctly, then posts their own full of spelling and grammatical errors :D. If you read my origional post correctly I think you will withdraw that comment.

I am not trying to go down the line of saying I was involved in a race as I wasn't, nor would I be. However, I don't see what the problem is with asking about the credentials of another car, just like the Mini Cooper v VRS. Hope this clarifies the situation......

In before the lock/delete hehe

I used to have a 106 GTi, same car as the Saxo VTS more or less. They are very good little cars but like someone said, not very safe in a crash. Put them back to back on a track, stock, and it would depend on a number of things, most of all the skill of the drivers. On paper I would imagine the 16v 1.6 is quicker 0-60 but not by much. They have a nice little powerband from 4000-6000 rpm.

R450DNA was the reg # of my 106, it's a white one.

Well said and quite agree.

I think we should all move along quietly now.

There is nothing to see here :orb_hypno
