Ignition button

Featured Replies

It's sometime since I had to do it on mine but as per Urrell's quote above of mine - a really thin flat blade (jeweller's) screwdriver will flick the chrome ring out and leave just enough of a gap to get an electrical cleaner in to do its thing.

I've had the start button replaced twice in 5 years on my Yeti -

If the key fob battery is low push the key fob on the start button this will get it to start (if key fob battery is the issue)

If engine battery is in poor condition this will make the push button start reluctant / slow to work - but if you have to push hard / multiple times its the button itself

A good trick if the button is on the way out is to use your fingers in a high speed jab and hold on the button this seems to work much better than multiple attempts or just pushing the button hard

I'm not sure why these seem so unreliable my 22 year old Subaru's key works fine and it's never been replaced 🤣

If shutting down is also difficult, then you can rule out battery issues of the car & the car key fob.

I would go here: Yeti Engine Start Stop Switch Replacment - Skoda Yeti Guides - BRISKODA
This worked for me, my button was dying and I had to press it a certain way to get it started. Went on Aliexpress and got the first Yeti start engine button, looked the same.
Installed as per instructions and it worked flawlessly, its like having a new car sorta haha, press and go! :)

One more thing to go wrong I'm glad my S model Yeti doesn't have
