Anyone have one of these on their car (just being curious)? This is not a mock-up, retrieved from the genuine Skoda documentation as an additional equipment.

Yes. I have one fitted to my 2009 Superb.

    What exactly does it do - recharge the car's battery while the engine is off?

    Apparently, it is a "solar panel sun roof" - it powers the ventilation fans when the car is switched off but sitting in sunlight.... keeps it cool....

    TheRobinK is correct. That is exactly what it does. It doesn't do a bad job of it. Better than nothing..

    Well, seems there is no place for a DIY there (asking for another car, mine doesn't have a sunroof) :D
