Led rear number plate lights

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, could someone send me a link to a pair of replacement rear number plate light holders and bulbs? I am after the white led ones as the yellowish ones that are in at the mo are just awful, also I've replaced every other bulb apart from the headlights bulbs to white LEDs and would like some quality items for the rear number plate lights, I've searched around but not sure which ones to trust and was just wondering if any of yous have a link to some tried and tested ones, thanks for any help in advance

Hi thanks for the reply, and have they been ok for you? No error codes or flickering or anything?

Forgot to say they are for a octavia vrs MK2 FL thanks

I use something similar on my FL MK2. Didn't need the load resistors, just needed to recode the BCM.

Been in for 3 years and probably 70-80k miles without any issues.

Thanks, how do you remember code the bcm?

I used mine with resistors for about 6 months before I realised I could code them out with VCP :D

catzeye I don’t suppose you have any links or references to the other LED bulbs you have bought at all? So I can replace all of the bulbs on my car too please.

and also any links or recommendations for sidelight and main beam bulbs too as I have noticed with the darker nights my lights aren’t the brightest, so could do with changing them up as they are getting in a bit now. TIA

Not off the top of my head, it's pretty obvious when you see it in VCDS.

I think it's "licence plate lights without PWM (LED)" or something similar.

Can anyone recommend any Led puddle lights that don’t give any issues?

I had these on my Oct 2, I fitted with the resistors and didn't have any issues whilst they were in (approx 1.5 years)

When you say resistors what do you mean thanks

Thank you, much appreciated for that. I see Superskoda sell the LED puddle lights for the mirrors, was just wondering if their was any cheaper alternatives.

Yeah, mine dsnt have the puddle lights so crnt help ya there sorry, lot of people will say to buy decent stuff straight off the bat as the cheapy stuff just breaks pretty quickly

They came with plug-in in line resistors which some people (I think) don't use and just code via VCDS.  I used the resistors and they work fine.  They look like purple heat sinks.  I've got the same set up on my Oct 3 and again no issues.

The only alternative is an LED 501 bulb but it won't give you the same effect or brightness.  I had them on my Oct 2 and also fitted them to my Oct 3 recently - they are the same lamp,  check out the thread ... LED puddle lights
