  • What exactly do you mean by "tried to upload the new map version"? There's no upload procedure needed.   All you need to do is unzip the download, copy the unzipped file to the SD card and p

The Skoda maps are are more or less a rebrand of the VW ( parent company ) maps and are usually put on the Skoda Update portal website a few months after they've appeared on the VW website. For instance, the current Skoda maps ( titled 2020/2021 ) were actually available from VW in November, 2019. I expect it will be sometime next year when Skoda will put up the latest version ( titled 2021 ) which were released last month on the VW website. If, like me, you want the latest map and can't be bothered to wait months for Skoda to upload it here's the direct download link from the VW website for the Europe 2021 map for the Amundsen MIB2 ( aka Discover Media ). Once downloaded It needs to be extracted using 7z compatible software ( I use Winrar myself ). then just place the entire " Maps " named folder onto your formatted Skoda sd card. The file size of the extracted folder is 14.4GB so it should just fit although I haven't tried it myself as I've recently upgraded to a 32GB sd card.

Card says 14.8 gb left on card , and downloaded file from Skoda portal was 6gb.

Are you 100% sure you downloaded the correct/same map?

A 2016 Scout will likely have a MIB2, and since you mention SD card you likely have an Amundsen? Are those correct guesses?

Sounds like the map file you've downloaded isn't the right one? If there's 14.8GB left on the card that means only 1.2GB is used ?

Did you enter the VIN into the Skoda Portal?

Yes put VIN in, it was still there from last time.

Only put the smallest one in, whole world not required.

Did you delete the existing maps, then copy the unzipped files from the new download?

The amount of free space on the card seems far too much for there to be even the smallest maps on it???

The SD card says its empty.

When you try to send to card, it says file to big.

At a guess, you need to extract the contents of the file rather than just copy the file across... :)

Wife comes in and says, "what you doin luv", i say, "just trying to download a file onto my SD card but it wont work", wife says, "have you tried copy and paste"?

STUPID BOY. All done. 🙄

Thanks bigade..
