Seat moving

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have the following issue. when the car is parked up or even if I jump out for 5 to 10 mins. the driver's seat which here in Latvia is on the left moves on its own and if left for a day or two or even a week the back part come go up to 5 to 6ins.

even my main dealer cannot fix it. everything to reboot reprogramming taken seat out check all wires and fitting even put in new parts in the back of the seat and still the same. they  are at a lost. been in over 10 times. a pain when you get in you have to push the number 1 on the seat to go back to how you sit, every time. but I still love this car to bits. as anyone heard or have this issue or even know the fix. thanks for reading.

P.S when the car is locked or even open its the same lol

Sounds like you need to do a scan to find the fault code.

Our 2010 car has developed all sorts of electrical gremlins, including faults with the memory function, lumbar, etc. When I unlock the car  with 'my key' the seat defaults to my wife's position. I can't re-program the seat at all!

I'd start by checking the seat memory buttons for corrosion :)

When you get out of the car. Do you sometimes pause with your feet on the ground while still sat in the car. Your thighs can sometimes catch the seat buttons and alter the seat in that 2-3 seconds that you pause. Just an idea as I noticed it when a passenger was getting out of my car a few years ago.

It happens when the car is standing alone. Even skoda seen it tryed everything they know faults clean contacts checked wiring even put in new back support and still doing it even tryed to see if power is losing somehow. I think only God knows lol

Do you use the same key every time, and is the key linked to the memory setting you use?
