Skoda octavia III 1.6tdi 110hp chiptuning

Hi, it smokes because fuel is not been completely burned in the cylinder as there is not enough boost. The fueling needs to be pulled back until there is enough boost both to clean up the exhaust and to stop wasting fuel.

An opposite example is the 1.4 tdi engine where the fuelling IS held back but then the cars jerks forward awkwardly.

That’s pretty much what I said :D

i know ot over fuels on full throttle as it builds boost but it still gets 112mpg on a run and once managed 150mpg so I’m happy with how it’s mapped. :thumbup:

and what about the environment/ air quality for the cost of just a bit better metered fueling - not much to ask!

Especially hen we think about peoples cardio vascular/ lung health and particulated. Smoke is largely unburnt/ wasted fuel producing no power!

John,

I agree , it is due to ADE and AMD wanting to get the max power, AMDs  goal to have 200+hp which he has.

My son once had an 3l Audi A4 diesel tuned by ADE and it smoked. He eventually took it to Unicorn Developments for a remap which resulted in lower hp ,higher torque and virtual no smoking. AMD has what he wanted and it achieves the performance that wanted, which as a non smoker he may well not achieved.

FS you make it sound like it smokes all the time :D I don’t drive everywhere flat out  the car doesn’t smoke at all in normal driving or cruising. It only smokes when it’s at full throttle between 1800-2500rpm.

As ken said I had a goal for the car and I achieved it.

@john2017

see plenty of smoke
