BlueFlame - Now fitted!

Featured Replies

First of all, I phoned them around 11am yesterday, and they managed to fit me in for a fitting today at 11am! Great start.

They had all the parts bar the downpipe and sports cat, so they said they would make them when I arrived with no extra charge and no extra wait

Started off around 8.30am to give enough time, got lost around five times including missing a few turnings ( dads Sat Nav is on the way next time ), but managed to arrive only a couple of minutes late.

Lads took the car straight away and said come back in around 2 1/2 hrs.

As advised on here we made the trip too the local shopping centre, taxi cost around

We all told you they were good...

Perhaps you could also add the ABD Racing TIP to your list of mods, really makes the turbo spool up a lot, lot quicker.

Ah forgot too add that to the list there, getting the DV and TIP fitted while down at Jabba!

Excellent mate. Did you go for the 200cel sports cat? And also, do you know how much Jabba charge to fit the TIP?

Guess you didn't ask the question/s about the moved lambda probe & the 4x4 then. :thumbdwn:

Went for the 100cel as I wanted as freeflowing as possible, the TIP wasn't today, thats being done when I travel down too Jabba.

I had a quick word with the guy about the lambada probe and he said that there shouldn't be a probelm with the vRS, he wasn't sure about the 4x4 and told me too phone up and ask Ian if I wanted a straight answer, hope that helps.

Why does anyone have to phone Ian for a Straight Answer ?????

Sound fishy this one. Maybe BF have done something wrong with the 4x4's!

Gerry Stop grinning now. :(

Bengie has a blueflame exhaust with sports cat and d/pipe on his 4x4.

I know this, what are you saying?

Bengie Any problems mate?

Was thinking if you have questions why not ask bengie? Whats the problem?

Was thinking if you have questions why not ask bengie? Whats the problem?

I've posed the question to Bengie!

By the way, do you have a 4x4?

This is promising that they can turn a car round in an hour and a half when they dont have stock of the downpipe and cat... very good service imo.

if you dont mind me asking what was the total cost of the turbo back system you had?

its on my list of to do's...

just as a note to Wayne... i've read pretty much all the BlueFlame threads and not 1 single vRS has had the Lambda problem. This only ocurrs on the 4x4 and would appear to be caused as Eddy says by the increased flow the single car gives over the twin cat OEM system. Perhaps BlueFlame need to think about altering the sensor as Eddy said on their systems for the 4x4...

i cant see the problem in calling someone though, perhaps the guy that did the system on the car in this thread is only a fitter, the guy you need to speak to maybe involve in developement or actually making the systems up in the first place.

Bengie's exhaust is VERY boomy inside the car

Maybe because its an estate its booms, I have the full system (Turbo back) on mine and its fine.

Maybe it is due to it being an estate but having been in the back of it I've been put off the blue flame.

When you look at the exit point for the exhaust on the 4x4, the pipe is still under the bodywork, but on my Octy vRS it comes out from under the bumper and away from the bodywork.

I cannot praise mine enough, real value for money.

Chilled - your report is entirely about the noise. What about the performance? If I spend £xxx on an exhaust I want it to do a little more than just sound different!

Already posted about the performance in other posts and threads, really does make a difference to the car. I drove up from Essex, and have to say the M6 toll road was a much more enjoyable place to be on the return journey.

Must have missed those, sorry. Didn't realise this thread was an instalment in a continuing story ....:o

Edit: OK I've done a search but not found anything relevant - can someone post me a link to whichever thread it is that has the performance report(s) in it?

I have a 4x4 estate with a Blueflame system and it's not boomy. However it exits through the rear bumper like a vRS rather than underneath like Bengie's.

Total cost of everything I had done there was the pre agreed

I didn't notice much of a performance increase with the exhaust until I had my map adjusted to take account of it.

WOW - I cant believe people didnt notice a MASSIVE difference - maybe its because mine already had a generic Jabba map on it but the difference was like night and day - previously it simply felt strangled above 5,600rpm; now it pulls to the 7k marker.

I find mine slightly boomy around the 2,500rpm - 3,000rpm range although its quietened down since its had time and mileage to coke up. :)

Lee

Same as that Lee.

Mine's still boomy in the car at all revs/speeds ,,,, but it has quietened down now there's a few miles on the clock.

When the fitter at BF drove the car from the workshop to me in the "waiting room" I had to snap my head round thinking christ whats that?

Still ain't stopped grinning. :D
