Citigo Questions

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've currently got a Citigo monte carlo as a courtesy car as my ever reliable fabia as failed me again, the Citigo isn't a bad car but I've noticed it seems to lack a trip computer that gives you info such as mpg etc. & there isn't a switch on the wiper stalk like on my fabia to scroll through the display, is there something I'm missing or is it really that basic?

And secondly it has some kind of mount on top of the dash, it doesn't look like it's designed to hold a mobile phone so what is it's purpose?

On the plus side I was quite surprised how much bottom end shove the engine has despite it only producing 59bhp & not having a turbo & it seems good on fuel as well but I don't think I could live with one.

How old is the Citigo in question? The trip computer was an option on certain models - not sure if it still is. Pre-facelift cars had the option of a Navigon or Garmin Satnav that integrated with the car to provide trip computer, Bluetooth and media functions. Newer cars have a holder for your smartphone and a USB socket.

It's a 2018 face lifted version monte carlo, I should have figured out it was a phone holder as I couldn't find the USB socket at first but then found it on top of the dash under the phone holder.

On the latest models you download the Skoda Move & Fun app onto your phone which then acts as sat nav and trip computer with mpg etc.

It says the app is only compatible with the swing radio, the one in the courtesy car is the one with the colour screen so not sure if it will work or not.

The Monte Carlo comes with the Swing radio which has a colour display so should be ok.

The centre screen is probably the standard one. You can upgrade it to the MFD for around £250 I think. It includes things like, speedo, MPG, range & average speed etc.

A free app sounds a lot cheaper ;)

From what I can tell according to the skoda car builder you can upgrade the dash display to the maxi dot display similar to the one in the fabia

Yep, it costs £230 but if you want sat nav you'd still need to use the Move & Fun app on your phone which is free so may as well use it as the trip computer too. IMHO you'd be better off spending the money on other extras.

Yeah that’s it, has afew different names. Like others have said though, if it’s just MPG / satnav and other driving data than no point in adding it as an extra. Only real advantage is a digital speedo but that’s not worth £230 alone :D
