350Z spec upgrade, price reduction, longer delivery.

Featured Replies

Mr Nissan just called to say he has the full spec available on the '06 model 350Z.

The larger "Rays" alloys are now standard on the GT, the rear light clusters now contain LED's rather than bulbs and the colours are slightly different with changes to the interior trim in places.

However, all of this comes in £200 less than the old spec.

He has asked if I would like to change my order to one of the '06 cars but this would mean sacrificing my £500 deposit I placed on Saturday. With the new model being £200 less this woul dmean I take a bath on £300.

So the Rays alloys are going to cost me £300 not £1000 and the car will be the newer spec.

However, delivery would move from April 28th to June 21st

I said I'd call him back later but TBH I think I'd like the 06 spec. I'll probably ask if he's willing to pay the £300 I've effectivly lost because I did ask about the 06 spec at the time I ordered and he said it wasnt available.

I'd hold out for the '06 spec personally and get the dealer to sweeten the deal by paying something or all of the lost deposit.... I suspect it'll depend how badly he needs the sale.

Spec-wise I would think that come resale time, the '06 spec will be more desirable. Just hope the Octy makes it to June

Chris

Definetely go the newer spec as it's bound to hold it's value better. As you've said yourself see what the dealer can do to sweeten the deal. Why exactly do you lose the deposit though? I've cancelled/changed orders before on bikes and cars and always got my deposit refunded or transferred. Unless the car has already been registered in your name (which it hasn't) then they haven't lost anything.

Oh... he never actually said I'd loose my deposit - I just assumed I would (hence I said I'd call him back)

Incidentally, he's offered me the demo car for the weekend ;)

June 21st  that would drive me insane :(

Hold out for the '06 though.

Order changed, deposit transfered (thanks, Eddy).

The standard phone kit is now bluetooth

Fingers crossed, just a shame it wont be here for my 2 weeks in the West Country any more :(.......... actually, I dont think we'd get 2 weeks SWMBO luggage in there anyway.

Seeing as you're waiting until June, maybe you could swing a deal of having the demo car for a few weekends? ;)

Chris

Sounds like he offered the demo for the weekend as a sweetner, he obviously has a customer desperate for the car you originally ordered.

I think you've done the right the thing.

*puts sensible hat on*

TBH it'd be best to get it after our holiday - I'd spend 2 weeks worrying about it sat at home on the driveway, or I'd have to bribe the father-in-law to keep it in his garage (he'd probably scratch it).

*takes off sensible hat*

I'm glad I mentioned it on here, I'm like a kid at Christmas right now and its good to get a level headed opinion.

Am I right in thinking that the "new" spec car will have more power also?? up to 300bhp AFAIK

  • Author

Yes, the power is also increased ;)

New specs come in 300bhp and more torque.

If you are going to refuse to get the new spec with better options for a better price than the old spec because you can't wait a few more months for the car, I will call you plainly the most stupid person in the forum.

GET THE NEW ONE!

.........and bi-xenon headlights?

LED tails look very similar to the Renault Magane CC.

Whats the difference between bi-xenon and normal?

Normal xenon is only dipped beam, bi-xenon does high beam too.

yea yea, you know I wanted a 4x4 but got impatient and bought a FWD. I've learnt from my mistake though

Can I have this dealers number...local dealer won't let you go more than about 1/2 mile which takes the pish.

Be that a 20k Navaro or a 20+k 350Z forecourt.
