Are you talking about the boost pressure sensor, air mass meter, DPF differential pressure sensor?

Do you have a DTC to support what you are searching for?

Depending on engine this may help for what to look for

MAP = Manifold Air Pressure i.e. 'boost' sensor.

@Nas2 It's component number 18 on this diagram:

@chimaera u are a star ! That looks like my engine . Il let you know how i get on but have got a feeling will need to access it from underneath the car!

Boost sensor is best accessible from the bottom - tray needs to be removed - located right next to the thick black pipe.

You could try to access from the top - but it would be rather one-hand job ;)

That diagram would be great if there was a legend somewhere?

OP's question was about the MAP sensor: which I pointed out.

Did you think I was criticising you? not so. I think it was very helpful of you but I would have been interested to see what all the other parts were.

I apologise if my wording lead you to that conclusion?

Hi what issue were you having with car that you needed to change map sensor??

  • 1 year later...

My Superb is in limp mode ,due to a sensor defect , filter has been cleaned , sensor checked and fault is definetly this one with the orange outer  plug  , on my car ,.Proved defect by plugging in my diagnostic tool and connecting to the laptop . It shows a defect wth this plugged in or disconnected. When I follow the cable it, the sensor , seems to disappear  underneath the partical filter and behind and underneath the turbo .Do I have to get it on the car lift and take it out from underneath ! And whats it called and maybe a part number ? Hope you can help , as its no fun driving to work on the motorway and being runnover by trucks when I go up hills at 80 kmh !! By the way the engine diagram , is it possible to get the part names with the numbers shown ? Thank you , from a very slow Superb driver !!

Yup, replacing egr coole on CR tdi engines are trully a f.....nightmare, but also pretty rewarding, since it actually gives you permission from wifey to buy more tools that you probably didn't need 🤣 But hey, who cares as long as the toolbox keeps growing 😉
