2012 Skoda Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

My friend repaired a damaged Fabia VRs that had a frontal crash and the steering pump had to be replaced. However on replacing with a second hand part we are getting the following error

Power steering sensor G250 Open or short

Could this be a sign that the replacement pump is faulty? Also the where is location for the G250 sensor? Is it on the rack or pump itself?

Also noticed another thing was that the pump has 3 connections but on the VRS only 2 of them are used? Any clue as to why?

Steering sensor nothing to do with ABS, sure the fault was not already there due to the crash ?

Sorry mate meant to say the steering pump was replaced which is on the left hand side.

I have tried clearing the code but to no avail. Where exactly is the sensor? Also steering is a bit stiff....as mentioned in the ross tech link

So as mentioned in the ross-tech info,

Was the replacement "identical" to the original part ?

Well checked the part numbers (which I had completely forgotten to check doh!) and it seems there is a difference of a single alphabet in the end as it has a 'J'. So in the end he has ordered a replacement like to like now making sure all part numbers are same. Will have to wait and see the end result.
