Lol.....no tangible difference!!

Do I have more stopping power as a result of "cooler" brake discs???  Highly unlikely, but it's the thought that counts ;-)

Well said!!!

Yes, so have I (well, it's still a 280 in Oz). By the looks of this photo of a MY19 Sportline 280 the ducts are open.

I think 2 ducts are open only for Australia models. I didn't see on Europe models at all.

So I am curious what is the function of the radiators exists behind the ducts?

I’m guessing they’re the oil and transmission rads. Probably due to the warmer climate down under. Mind you we’ll probably have the same climate in 5 years…

Probably no shorter braking distance, but maybe lasting a bit more in severe conditions (e.g.: driving down from mountain)?

What is your lessons learnt since you've done this mod?

Likely it's been helping that little bit here n there.

I've been doing lots of twisty mountain road driving with plenty of braking, over the years.

Not sure if it's related, but Gandalf has done almost 75k kms now and still plenty of meat left in the factory original brakes.

Well weirdly, I noticed our 280 has an open grill on the NS and a closed one on the OS! 🤷🏻🙃

OEM VAG brake pads last quite a lot.

My Mk3 is currently 92000 km on the clock and still with its original brake pads. My wife's Audi Q3 is 152000 km on the clock and still with its original brake pads too.

Maybe too inspired by the Steve McQueen drive style?

Sadly plenty of VAG vehicles here in Oz suffer from butter soft brake discs.

I've seen countless change their discs well before they hit the 50k kms mark!!!

Plenty more being told at their 45k kms service that their rotors will need to b replaced.

That's impressive that ur wife's Q3 has done 150k kms plus on the factory brakes!!!

I've seen a lot of threads regarding brake discs indeed. But very few about brake pads.

Additionally, I've never seen any thread about rear brake discs issue on French Superb Mk3 forum which I get used to read (not very active, I admit). Could there be a climate explanation?
