I think most of the cars have what they call a fancy diff that you can adjust in vcds.  In reality they use the braking and traction systems to do the work.  Then there is the actual fancy diff that came in car like pre-FL 220, FL 230 and 245* that is a mechanical part with computer controlled wizardry.

*I may have got those models wrong but its something along those lines.

Are you guys talking about the XDS+? If so my car has that but it’s not a proper mech diff like in our Golf GTI Performance, that thing is insane

There you go. It won't stop the 'discussion' though.

  • Whoa, we've all had a bit too much 0-60 quoting for today, so let's just all sit down, reflect  and have the nice cup of shut the f**k up

The difference between (XDS-traction control) and the VAQ electronic diff was demonstrated around the Nurburgring where 2 identical Golf Gti's driven by the same driver were separated by 8 seconds over the near 21km (13.8 mile) lap. This doesn't sound much but the difference was highlighted by the VAQ car having a corner exit speed upto 6kph higher than the XDS car. It greatly reduces understeer on leaving a roundabout or corner and you can get on the power sooner so it is more useful on a track but the difference can also be felt on the road. Almost feels like your front-wheel drive car has 4 wheel drive, but less weight at the apex.

If you actually read that website it says this

Well, our own development vehicles see the 0-60mph sprint in just over 4 seconds (on road tyres with regular pump fuel).

Doesn’t claim 4.5 and that’s on a prepped drag strip in America with no doubt a golf r as it uses the same engine and deffo not with a superb

Even with proper tyres it’s not getting under 5 seconds 0-60.

I reckon you’re right, it won’t get anywhere near 4.5. I’d like to do a few proper 0-60 runs but none of the acceleration apps available are any good. I want one of those proper race timers they always use on The Grand Tour etc, but I’m not sure where to get one, or indeed how expensive they are! :o

anyone got a dyno plot to confirm the power figure?

Of course not but it feels like 316BHP.:D

comming from a 170 bhp diesel our 220 feels like it has more than 220, but the bum dyno isnt always accurate.

could be doing 250, but with the boost comming on really hard making it "feel" fast rather than being fast

I've seen a stage 1 220 superb on a dyno make that power so i have no issues with the claimed power just the performance :D

That's more than a stage 1 remap judging by the 4 large pipes sticking out the back. Stage 1 is standard exhaust, standard intercooler, standard airbox and standard air filter as changing any of these will help the engine produce more power.

Not even got a map just a tuning box.

Lol, you guys still banging on about this feckin printout. ADS, who did the Revo work for me, do not have a rolling road, they do what they call “real world testing” in other words they measure the power on road, yet still do not have any sort of printout...

I do not know why this is, and frankly I don’t care what the figures are, all I know is that I have absolutely no problem p*ssing all over some seriously fast cars at lights. Kept up with a 14 plate E63 the other day from standstill up to about 70/80 then it started leaving me behind.

I have read that a lot of the 220s pack more punch than stated as standard - they are consistently measured at 259bhp - perhaps this explains it a bit?

As I said I’m not arsed about printouts, I’m not one for having adenoidal number arguments lol if you want to see for yourself get in and find out I’ll try and make it to some meets

If you don't care about figures why have it in the title that its 320bhp without proof or claim it will do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds without proof? If you don't care about figures why mention specific figures?

Because that’s what I was told?

Why doesn’t someone just rename my post to “my car has been remapped and now it’s faster”

Or the equally catchy title of "IT CAN STAY WITH AN E63 UPTO THE NSL", staying PC enough not to upset anyone, except Lewis Hamilton in his daily driver.:whew:

So your tuner turned around and told you your 1600kg FWD saloon does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds which is inline with a BTCC car 😂
