With mine, i'm not sure if the spare wheel isn't sat right, but the polystyrene thing with the jack and stuff in it are pushing the floor of the boot up and making it rattle quite loud, so i gotta figure some way of getting everything in without that polystyrene thing.

Rubber boot mat would stop shopping sliding about so much at least lol

I’d have a good look at it all personally. I don’t have a spare wheel but I’d be surprised if having one gave an unfavourable rattle.

@FabiaGonzales

The rubber mats including tunnel mat. :)  I’ve a dog seat cover too which helps reduce the amount of sand in there, believe it or not.

Aaaand, mud flaps! Grand saving of £86 vs from the dealer. 30 minutes to fit with a torx ‘Allen key’, after I’d worked out what to do with the little clip thing for the rears (I think...)

Yes, she needs a wash.

The front floor mats look great, i rarely have anyone or anything in the rear so ill probably leave them just for the sake of saving money.

Where did you get those flaps from? Might look into them once ive got it lowered next year

Yeah the fit is fantastic. I don’t often have people in the back but it’s usually for beach trips if I do so that helps with the obvious issue of sand. :)

Everything was from SuperSkoda, really good service from them. Each delivery (mats and flaps bought separately) took about 8 days. :)

Sounds good, ive got quite the list of things to sort on my car! Bonnet dampers and floor mats being the first ones i think. (Unless my insurer decides to not charge a premium for lowering so i can revamp the whole suspension as it sounds like the front left is about to fall off with the amount of squeaks and rattles it makes, ive been assured it wont fall off though, just many damaged and worn parts from two blow-out causing potholes)

Probably aught to make my own thread about it once things get moving haha

Unfortunately i am still at university so things happen quite slowly annoyingly

Looking sleek!

Do you know what suspension option is on yours? The rear looks much lower than my 1.2TSI 90ps SEL;

I think it might be the angle. Plus the car is technically facing downhill... and the photo is dark at the arch gap so difficult to tell there...

It's not because of the dead bodies you have in the boot then?

I see you don't want the ANPR cameras picking up your number plate as well. :D

Thanks AG Falco

To be frank, there aren’t THAT many in the boot. :D

I know, I’ve always done it as a precaution but tbf there’s nothing to hide :)

Well, I've surpassed the 2,000 mile mark now and the car has been great (with the exception of the CarPlay issue which I'm yet to hear back about).

I'm considering HEKO wind-deflectors. I used to love the top-down motoring in my old car, but the turbulence with the windows open with this one makes for a slightly blustery ride, so I'm favouring having the windows up*. Has anyone got any comments on it with the facelift? I can't imagine there being a difference with the other Mk3 but just thought I'd cover all avenues! Last thing I would want is a squeaky or noisier ride with windows up than I get with the current window seals, which makes it a very comfortable, quiet ride. :)

In other news, Carista have advised me that their hill-hold updates will be ready for me to try out. They claim that they've 'fixed' the issue, so time will tell!

*Fortunately, this motor has air-con so windows up is still nice and cool.

Hill hold works on the newest Beta of Carista! I’ll be sure to let them know and hopefully it’ll be rolled out to the masses soon. :)

Sounds good.. wonder if it'll work on a 2016 one.. it has the front assist emergency brake so i don't see why not..

Also sad news on the arm-rest front, managed to get two of the bolts out ok, then while wrestling with it and the trim to get the screwdriver into the other side, i fell, crushing the center console trim, and unfortunately breaking one of the pillars which has two of the bolts on it... so unfortunately you're going to have to visit a breaker to find one  sorry!

I spent the rest of the day angrily trying to source a new center console trim, eventually found one on eBay for £25, thankfully VC-10's little tray will still come in handy, don't think it could be much worse than mine lol. I proper mucked it up!

I can’t see any reason why not, especially as the VCDS coding on these forums was tried on that era of car.

Haha oh no! Not to worry buddy, the offer was very much appreciated anyway. :) these things happen, and to be frank I’m don’t know what I’m missing... so technically can’t miss it! Doh!

HEKO wind deflectors, ordered! Worth a punt when someone is selling old stock from their shop - full set for £18 posted, bargain! Unfortunately the last ones so I had to bag them for myself. Sorry guys and gals! :D

I've just ordered a pair of rubber floor mats from superskoda for my front seats, don't think i'm gonna bother with the rears, they get used maybe once every 6 months or so. They were only €16.99!

Let me know how the wind deflectors go, i've been thinking about them for mine, but i don't want any extra noise as i generally do a lot of motorway driving.

Almost thinking about the bonnet struts but i'm not sure... Is it really worth it when i can spend the £40 on something a little more useful and important... like fixing my cars poor suspension haha

Same here! I’m hoping they don’t amp up the noise. 2209 miles in about 6/7 weeks is what I’m currently at. I’ll be sure to check in on how they are. :)

the bonnet struts do look look good and handy but hopefully I won’t be spending much time under the hood if any so I don’t see the use for them for me personally. :)

Heads up! Carista is on Amazon with a months free premium subscription for £16 posted next day with prime.

One ordered! Needle sweep and cornering lights here I come!

Luckily, it’ll also double-up for OBD Eleven app, so I’ll be sure to try the long-code hill hold! ;)

Sorry to jump in and bump an old(ish) post, but how did you pair the Carista dongle with the OBD Eleven app? I just can't seem to get the OBD Eleven app to see the Carista dongle

No need to apologise, but I never got around to using OBDEleven with it, sorry I can’t be of more help here.

Ah, no worries, I think the OBDEleven might only work with its own dongle thingy. I've tried searching on the web, but had luck. Thanks again!

Ok, further to my previous post I now have the Hill Hold function enabled on my Fabia! Yay! I purchased the OBD Eleven dongle and after a bit of digging and using the VCD code sticky post in this section, there is a tick box to enable the Hill Hold. Once applied, I then turned off the ignition, removed the dongle and sure enough, the Hill Hold was working!:cool:

Hopefully going to have the opportunity to fit the wind deflectors tomorrow!

In other news, car is still running well. Can tell it's breaking in a bit now as the last refill took 40.76 litres and covered 450 miles. Ergo, 50.2 real-world MPG! Happy with that. :)

This is considering I've left the throttle 'sensor' on 'by position' rather than 'by time', which I initially thought gave deleterious effects to economy. A little bit of getting used to it, and we're back in business!

Nice going.

My long term trip computer is saying 41.5, my last tank told me I got 46mpg for the tank.

How many miles are you on now?

I've just hit 1300

Not bad not bad! I'd assume I'm doing more motorway miles than you. :)

I've definitely ticked over 3,000. May have surpassed 3,100 but will definitely be at 3,200 by the end of the week...
