Do doors auto unlock too when you stop / take keys out?

Thanks

A

Mine auto unlocked on switching the car off and removing the key. I can't comment on whether it was single door or all doors, but as they key is set to unlock all doors with a single button press I'd have imagined all doors unlocked. I'll test shortly for you. :)

Forgot to mention but as everyone probably knows already the DRL fade back in after indicator use, converse to the pre-facelift mk3. :)

Update: The car, for whatever reason, has reverted some settings back to 'stock' some time after applying the customisations. The needle sweep is not obviously working now and yesterday the key-press only applied to the single door, first-press, and all doors on second-press. I've adjusted the key-press aspect but will have to see whether the needle sweep is just not playing ball or whether it has actually defaulted to stock setting of 'not active'.

Edit: the doors still lock after setting off and it still shows refuel quantity, so I don't know why other aspects have apparently defaulted to stock

Rubber mats from SuperSkoda have arrived! Dispatched 5 days ago, great service considering they came from the Czech Republic and through Germany! Looking forward to cleaning what little dirt there is on the carpets and chucking down some good looking mats. :)

I wonder if it relates to the key you're using? Have you swapped keys, or are you still using the same one?

Same key! I plugged the carista back in, turned the key and... NEEDLE SWEEP!

Seems to to do it intermittently for whatever reason. I’ll see if I can pinpoint when it does/doesn’t and why. :)

Unimportant update no #4x+1, where x is an integer value;

Needle sweep is tending to be absolutely random. Fine this morning, getting in the car. Not working lunch time getting in the car, worked once after grabbing some lunch, turned off and back on, not working again.

I do, however, get a fault code thrown up whenever it happens. It's 1666...17... something. I think. I didn't pay much attention but it relates to an interruption of the instrument cluster. Cleared code over my lunch break, car off and back on, no needle sweep and code was there again.

Ergo, I've turned off needle sweep. It is rather pointless, the randomness of it is frustrating and I can't be faffed with trying to work out why there's an intermitted instrument cluster fault with it.

Edit: from the above 'timeline' it seems as though it's every other car start. I assure you this is not the case.

Needle sweep is random in my unmodified MY18 superb.

Its another Skoda "characteristic"

Was the needle sweep an OEM feature for you, or did you activate it yourself? :)

Also confirmed the same with others in the Superb iii forum.

Thanks for this. I might reactivate it shortly, but the intermittency of it is a little annoying.

Just purchased front and rear mud flaps from SuperSkoda. £30 posted versus the £116 the dealer wanted.

Yes, you did read that right. No, there wasn't a typo.

Received the mud flaps end of last week but haven't got around to fitting them...yet. Hopefully will find a couple of moments tonight to get them sorted.

Contacted Carista offering to trial some of their 'experimental' customisations, and can report the following;

For the 'face-lift' version, cornering lights do not work through Carista whatsoever. The app allows you to 'make' the adjustment, but no combination works.

Hill-hold doesn't work whatsoever (for my manual car, at least). The car refuses to accept the coding.

Adjusting the throttle pedal input makes a notable difference - from 'over time' to 'depending on throttle position' gives far more urgency for the latter when pressing on, or pulling off. However, it is seemingly deleterious for fuel economy - it is the first time I've ever seen single figures, when pulling off. However, this is based solely on trip computer and not real-world stats.

There have been a couple of updates since I tried last so will give it another spin tonight to see whether anything has changed. I'm tempted to leave the throttle pedal input on 'depending on throttle position'. It's reduced the instances of 'bogging down' when changing up on steep hills or trying to pull off from slower speeds in a slightly higher gear. Anything under 1.5k revs currently gives a fair delay in picking up speed (I know, the max torque is at 1,800 and turbo seems to assist from 1,500) but this is reduced with the adaptation. I recall seeing a description of 'acceleration is more gradual with the 'over time' adjustment' and 'turbo lag is more notable with the other adjustment' which I'd agree with. The turbo lag is more modular with acceleration depending on throttle position. It does feel more natural to me coming from a naturally-aspirated, far less assisted car.

Let me know if there's anything else y'all want to know about Carista customisations and I'll see if I can help! :)

Just picked up my brand new Fabia Colour Edition (Race Blue) at the weekend and one of the first things I wanted to add was the Hill Hold, but it is nowhere in the Carista app (that I can see). Wonder if Carista have removed this or you just can't do it on the very latest Fabia. Planning on sending my Carista thing back as it doesn't seem to let me do much that I wanted. Does OBDEleven do more than Carista or are they as much as much?

As I mentioned at the beginning, I offered to trial their 'experimental' options. A lot of those aren't featured in 'regular' Carista. You may as well keep the Carista connector as it's decent and use it for OBDEleven. I've not tried the latter, but it is reported to have more customisations.

I've also read elsewhere that hill hold doesn't work for manual cars, but I can't be certain of this - i.e. I can't see why it wouldn't.

In other news, car went into the dealership yesterday to have a speaker buzz (turned out the passenger side door handle cable was marginally loose) fixed and the CarPlay stutter looked at. Since then, the start-stop hasn't been working adequately, though I was told it could be down to the multiple ignitions yesterday without driving in between. Dealer has advised that it should correct itself over the next couple of days, so I'm hoping they're right as consumption seems down (which, to me, tallies with low battery capacity). CarPlay issue was noted as a 'technical enquiry' so they're letting me know when Skoda respond to their query.

Thanks Benz3ne, I decided to keep the Carista in the end as it might be handy for error codes etc, should they arise. Surprised the hill hold possibly doesn't work for manual cars given that I had it on my Citigo which manual. I'll have more time to try out a few things this weekend. Thanks for your reply:thumbup:

Anytime buddy. :) update: I’ve notified them of the experimental coding not working and they’ve said they’ll update me when they have an idea for new coding for it. Once that’s out I’ll trial and it will hopefully work - also I agree, there’s conflicting info about the manual not having hill hold but it seems like it isn’t actually the case, ie that it can be activated for manual cars. :)

Many thanks again:). The Hill Hold is listed as a £65 option on Fabia's options list, but my car was one that was on its way to to the dealer from the factory already when we ordered it. We could of course spec'd one up, but we were happy with the standard spec and didn't want to go over budget or have the longish wait:D.

Mind updating us with a picture? I'm looking to get rubber mats at least for the front, maybe for rear and the boot.

Sure thing! I’ll take a snap first thing tomorrow if that’s okay?

Ps you’ll have to excuse the copious amounts of sand.

Edit: yeah, I’m deliberating on whether to get one for the boot, too.

Edited by Benz3ne

I had them all round and in the boot. Definitely worth it. My Ibiza came with regular floor mats which definitely aren't going to be as hard wearing. I'm thinking of getting a rubber boot mat but haven't got round to it yet.

With mine, i'm not sure if the spare wheel isn't sat right, but the polystyrene thing with the jack and stuff in it are pushing the floor of the boot up and making it rattle quite loud, so i gotta figure some way of getting everything in without that polystyrene thing.

Rubber boot mat would stop shopping sliding about so much at least lol
