Guys,

What is the above fault code? I have realised my car (16plate 1.6tdi SE L) doesnt blow hot air unless it is set 24.5 or more..but my prevous one (2013 1.6tdi) used to blow hot air in 22. is there anything wrong with the heater or anything? whenever i diagnose it brings the below result.

I've had it too, on my Yeti. The emissions control light came on on the dash on Friday, 10th May so I phoned my Skoda dealer (it's still in warranty) and they sent a VAG Roadside Assistance man out.

After some head scratching he said that the "support heater pump" is an auxiliary pump used in some situations when the engine is stopped to keep the heating/cooling working (in the same way that the radiator fans sometimes keep spinning for a while).

When he tried connecting/disconnecting it with the engine off and his laptop hooked up to the car it was spinning up fine when it was plugged in so it seemed fine but as the car was declaring it intermittent he said it should be fixed so he advised me to book it in for a warranty repair, which it's due to be having this Wednesday.

He didn't clear the fault condition so the emissions control light stayed one as "if I turn it off the dealer won't want to replace the pump" but the light went off all on its own some time on Friday so I'm now waiting for the dealer to phone me back so I can confirm that they will still actually do something if I take it in!

Dealer said "Oh well, we can't be sure. Unless the Skoda diagnostics still show the fault, and they may do even though the dash warning light is out, then we can't do a warranty replacement. Your best bet is to wait until tomorrow night and, if the warning light hasn't come on again, then cancel the booking."

So I wasn't best pleased.

However my wife reminded me that I'd bought a Carista OBD2 Bluetooth Adaptor which I'd not tried yet (as I didn't want to jinx the fault code) so why didn't I see what that had to say? So I did that and, ooh look, it's still showing P16C7:

So it's off to Inverness Skoda on Wednesday and two hour long bus journeys for me to look forward to. Ho hum.
