Recall on diesel cooling issue?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 64 Octavia 2.0 Black edition, im I right in thinking that my car may have a recall on it? The reason I've looked is this and it's a strange one.

I had my or was told my cam changed when I reported a strange noise coming from the area, however I don't know if Skoda Ashford actually did this as they don't give any paperwork and could be unrelated. But and here is the strange part.

This was about 8 months ago and since then whenever I drive the car in sport mode the car overheats quickly whenever on the motorway or a roads at speed. As if the water pump turns off at speed. Every time I put the car back to eco and carry on and the car cools with low revs and then won't come back at hight revs in eco.

This is strange as! I've not taken it in as I believed that they will just try to charge me the earth for something I don't think is my fault so to speak. So I just don't use sport mode!. Is this where others get the problem or should I try get it done as a recall or just be an all time eco driving driver?

Water pump sleeve is known issue on some engines.

Have a search on the forum as I am sure there are plenty of threads on it already, so I won’t repeat it all.

Have a look here:
