Cup holders ridiculously shaped

Featured Replies

You may have to resort to a knife (eating type) and a lot of patience.  I remember this with moneyboxes when I was young.  May take some hours of patience but I expect it will come out eventually.  May have to use 2 knives. One to hold the spring open and the other to fiddle with the coins to make them line up.

Still - you won't make that rookie mistake again 🙂

450ml is the volume of two cups of coffee or nearly 8 Expressos, its bigger than my flask.

WTF do I have to click that I am a human then do 2 different Captcha quizzes just to look at a supersized coffee cup? I had that before with Wilko.

Thanks! Tried that already! But no joy.
I’m trying to work out if it comes apart.

If they’re ‘rattling’ around then the upside down action has got to work, especially if given a sharp bash down on the kitchen worktop…………

Or do you mean removing the tray tidy doesn’t work?

If so then try again, with some confidence, grab it firmly with both hands and pull up sharply.

If they are inside the removable tray then you won't be able to get them out.  I think it's new tray time or split it apart to get at them which might not be easy as it looks pretty solidly glued together...

Slightly left field idea, well for this time in the morning, but you could just neutralise the rattle by squirting some glue in these, give it a gentle shake to get the coin to slide around and meet the glue, and then it should stick to the “floor” somewhere.   Look on the positive side, it will up the value of the car! 👍

Give the whole thing to a "young person" as a Christmas preset and tell them that there are "many £1 coins inside this puzzle". Let them spend 3 days getting them out by using all of their patience and gall and then take the holder back and pop it back in the car 🙂

On a serious note though...

Is the bit indicated by the arrow removable (maybe??). If it does pop out then it might give access to the rest of the cavity and the coins might come out of the hole it created.  If any tabs holding it firm break on the way out then that bit could be replaced afterwards with a bit of hot glue.

Apologies, I misunderstood your predicament - I thought the reflections in the photo were the coins - if they went in via the card slot then I suspect they'll have to come out the same way - palette knife perhaps?

I must say, never had a issue with the cup holders,

works well with cardboard coffee mugs, works well with plastic soft drink bottles.

Travel mugs look far too big nowadays

The white Skoda branded thermo mug (which they used to give you free when purchasing a new car) fit perfectly. Just FYI. They’re a pretty good mug as well to be fair. When I used to commute to work, I’d make a brew for the journey. By the time I got the 15 miles to work, I still had the whole drink left as it hadn’t cooled enough yet 😂

There was a really nice guy - Josh - that used to work there. Bought 4 cars off him. Left a few years ago now.

I know this is a bit of a dormant thread but I recently had the same question and found the answer in the Bru Travel Mug which I saw recommended here.

It fits in the cupholder and holds a good amount of liquid. Would recommend and thought it might help others.

We have two Yeti flask cups….287ml (?) and they fit perfectly.
