Help needed please

A have a really bad vibration when a pull away in 1st and 2nd gear from a junction or a roundabout. 

This has all come about since a fitted a new inlet manifold gasket a have 're checked all nuts bolts screws just to make sure everything is tight but can't find wear the vibration is coming from.

Ave jacked the car up started the engine give it a good rev but no vibration it only does it when driving on hard acceleration and high revs over 2 and a half thousand revs.

It's worse if a try and start off from a stand still position on an incline the noise is horrendous the vibration is even worse.

Sounds like you have disturbed/damaged an engine/gearbox mount in some way

Thanks for the replys a did notice the mountain bush in the sub frame was cracked but a can't understand how if thats at fault how come there was no vibration before and also a never touched the bush when a done the inlet manifold gasket.

It all seems to coincidental.

But am open to more suggestions thanks.

Drive the car on full lock in both directions to try to reproduce the vibration. If you can, then jack up each front wheel in turn to check for excessive movement in the driveshaft.

The car is perfect to drive just when a pull away it vibrates thats the only time it does it.

A have even jacked the car up and drove it no noise really frustrating now it only does it when driving car on road thats why a can't find were it's coming from.

Did you drive around in tight circles. That is the test for drive shaft problems.

No not in tight circles.

But if am wrong is that not to check cv joints for clicks for worn cv joints.

So a took me car for a nice drive down motorway on acceleration the car gets louder.

The vibration comes first then goes off so out of curiosity a took the car out of gear free wheeled perfect no noise so then a revved the engine hard still perfect no vibrations or loud noises.

As soon as a put car back into gear and drove there it is vibratin first and then a loud droun noise sounds like a blown exhaust sound and the vibration noise sounds like a heat shield rattling on the exhaust. All this only happens when driving.

Any more help please.

DMF goosed, can you record the sound?

A wish a could but it would be really hard as a have got to be driving the car

Do you do your own servicing, maintenance etc, or do you have a trusted mechanic that you can go and allow to drive your car?

Maybe an idea to have someone else check it out.

Do everything my self mainly because of money but a might have to bite the bullet and put it into a garage for help

Hi. I had this problem.

If you feel the vibrations when the car on load ? When you push on 1st and 2nd it risses the front of the car then it mean that the inner cv at the driveshaft is damaged in one place.

Look for dry nor damaged rubber of cv's. And look for plat when the car is jecked up and secured.

Had the same issue myself, on load would rumble and vibrate, backing off and coasting was fine, only really showed on hard acceleration, inner CV was goosed.

I think its strange that the drive shaft should suddenly go after working on the manifold system !.

 

To me the more obvious thing is the exhaust or engine mountings , bearing in mind the engine does move on its mountings when accelerating

 He has probably got it sorted now as it was over a week ago since he posted about it.

Am still trying to find the culprit a have changed the passenger side engine mount and the centre gearbox mount thats the 1 pressed into the sub frame.

So took me car to a gearbox specialist just out of curiosity let him drive me car told him whats up he came back and said its not the gearbox or clutch just to rule them out on the noise.

So am still no further forward hopefully 1 day al find it and share what it is.

So took the car back to the garage the gearbox specialist for them to have a good look and try and find whats up they had it for a day and a half.

They phoned me and told me the car is perfect nothing wrong that they could find.

So out of curiosity a went to the main skoda dealer to ask if a mechanic would sit in me car and listen to it but they were to busy.

The guy i was talking to a think he was the head mechanic and asked what was up so a told him.

The first word that came out of his mouth was DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL.

He said that they have come across this them selves he said that the flywheel is out of balance.

What does people think could this be right or wrong has anyone came across this or heard of it before.

Could it be possible for a flywheel to be out of balance.

Well two folk have already mentioned the DMF (DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL).

 

With the car sat and the engine running, is there a rattle, most noticeable from the back of the NSF (passenger side front) wheel?

 

This was noted prior to purchasing mine and the mechanic (from next door to the sales) said it was this straight away, and he was correct.

Replaced as an agreement prior to purchase. The (Skoda Indy) bill showed circa £1100. I believe they do not need to cost this much tho, but not a cheap fix either.

Has anyone fitted one recently as ave bought 1 full LUK kit and unknown to me a need a special tool for the pressure plate is this right.
