Vibration

Featured Replies

You need to centre the pressure plate whilst fitting the clutch so the gearbox will mate afterwards. Usually a tube like tool that attaches the the flywheel centre to hold the pressure plate. IIRC @Wino made a DIY tool for the job.

Thanks am talking about this new tool that looks like a 3 legged puller but it works the opposite way it presses the fingers on the pressure plate am just wondering has anyone used one yet cheers.

Right just fitted a new clutch and flywheel today still the same total waste of £312 for clutch and flywheel  absolutely distraught total waste of money and time dont no what to do thanks.

It would help if you had said what your problem was that remains after changing the clutch.

How did you eliminate the driveshaft problem?

Langers2k  just means for a moderator to merge the 2 threads that are both in relation to the vibration on your car, to keep the discussion in one place.

As above, have you checked the drive shafts and eliminated them completely?

How do a get a moderator to do that Don't no who a moderator is thanks.

Yes thanks a have checked the driveshafts inner and outer no play whats so ever even a garage has had a look at me car and can't find a single thing wrong with it.

Thanks anyway Graeme

So stupid me put me last comment in the wrong place which should have been placed in here.

Fitted a full new clutch kit and flywheel and yes that stupid annoying vibration is still there so a total waste of £312 and no further forward dont no what to do now am at a total loss now

I've reported one of the posts asking for a mod to merge it :)

Hopefully they'll be along soon and can also remove all the comments about merging the threads ;)

Thanks very much am not very good with technology.

Both threads merged but that could mean some of the replies might look out of place!

Thanks John999boy, we'll figure it out... probably faster than the source of the vibration...

Ive just re-read the first post...

And i have a potential idea that may scare the bejeezus out of you.. and i hope im wrong..

Its only at higher rev range, under load, bigger the load worse the vibration.

Check the oil filter for metal contamination?

I recently (3-4weeks ago) felt a vibration rumble at 2.5k+ revs in my insignia, which is a big indicator along with the rumble that the big end bearings (output shaft) were eating themselves. The rumble being the start of movement between the shaft and the piston rod. I got lucky and got it off the road  before the engine seized...

Can anyone tell me if there is a right way or a wrong way of fitting a inlet manifold gasket

As this problem appeared after changing the inlet manifold gasket, it highly likely it is something to do either with this or something you did while changing it.

Why did you change the inlet manifold gasket? Was anything else removed/changed or cleaned/disturbed, EGR, turbo, pipework etc.

Who did it, and of it was a garage, why didn't you just take it back and tell them to fix whatever they broke.

It was leaking oil and bad fuel consumption.

The only thing a took off was the EGR to get to it as its down the back of the engine bit of a nightmare to do a wish a had just left it leaking lol
