I was looking at getting a personalised number plate for my fabia vrs, but i'm not 100% all i know is that it will be skoda specific. Does any other members have personalised plates and what do you think of them?

I think someone has something like "SK02A**" on a plate, but it sounds expensive and I'd rather do something that will improve the car itself, not just what people may read on it... (This excludes my 2 foot Briskoda sticker)

SK02 A** is just an ordinary Edinburgh plate, and as such has ended up on cars like the Audi TT I saw recently! Wonder if he's noticed it, as it's more obvious than I first thought that it spells Skoda. If he hasn't noticed it you can be certin his mates have, if he has any!

I've had a few of them and i've never sold one for less than double what i paid for it. I call that a sound investment.

Skodaw has a personal plate - his very appropriate. I've toyed with one, only to keep the age of the car from being obvious eventually, as I will have to keep it for a few years yet. But with a new model out next year I think there would be little point from that perspective.

There is a dvla auction coming up and they showed some of the plates on topgear lastnight.

"V14 GRA" and "B347 LES" are expected to make a few bob. They showed some more but I cant remember what they were.

T10 AST was one of them. A man has apparently got OR51 ASM too

Sorry, but anyone with a personalised plate is, in my humble opinion, a "B311 END"

I quite like them, although as has already been pointed out, there probably are better 'mods' you could get with the money...

I must admit i'm on the DVLA mailing list for auctions, as I'm waiting to see if they issue a reg I requested at the start of the year. If they do, then I'll go to the auction and buy it, without a second thought

(Before we get onto the altering plates topic again, the plate I'm after doesn't really require any changes for it to work...)

it all depends. If it's something truly witty that doesn't require altering the spacing, then fine.

But when it's Sp ACE D out all over the shop to try and make something of it, with funy fonts etc, i suspect the law is against them (although not much is ever done about it)

And i do have a personal plate...a double personal as it's one of my nicknames coupled with my initials.
