Featured Replies

Picked up this today for my Fabia.

?id=1709914&outx=600&oq=0

Its a SEAT Sport strut brace (made by momo) its for the Ibiza TDi 130 but fits the Fabia vRS perfectly. The sticker has now been removed btw ;)

Its has stiffened up the steering no end and makes it feel more precise and in better control.

Top mod well recomended. Retail price is about

looks the part. have you got a part number for it mate? btw did you get me that price for the lowered springs.

how easy to fit any chance of some instructions and could this be put on a standard tdi?

there very easy to fit i think depending on type about 3 nuts each side and your done. fits on top of shocker housing

I was looking at these and thought it may fit! Now I know it does, I think I may have to get me one! ;)

Along with the suspension kit as on your car Ross! Save the money over the coilovers for something else methinks! :D

How much would it be to get the shocks and springs that you are running please?

Looks good!

So you dont need to remove/adjust the suspension settings or anything?

So techie.. it does make the ride/handling much better does it? - like all the SEAT boys said about their ibiza

Very easy to fit then and might get one for the vRS!

Would like to know, as Neo said, a bit more detail in how it improves the handling & feel etc..

The steering feels more direct giving better feed back for sure.

However my strut brace is also complimenting all my other suspension mods remember.

But for

How firm are you finding the Konis on your vRS?

I'm not sure whether to swap mine over to the new one when it arrives or not.

Looks suspiciously like a hyper earthing rod to me, except it should be black if that is the case. Did Des sell it to you?

I've got them adjusted to a medium soft setting and they are just fine. Rides the road rather than being crashy.

Did you use the Hyper connection greese on that, you know, where it comes in connection with the strut housing. :D

Des

PS If you want some I can get it for you cheap.

What's Hyper connection grease then Des?

I've got a quote for the suspension job, if there are 5 or more of us Craig at AmD will supply and fit the same suspension set up as techie for

Has anyone checked to see if the adjustable suspension-kit for Ibiza made by Seat-Sport will fit the Furby?

I can't find any specs. on it e.g. how much you can lower it.

I presume it will fit Fabia TDI if it fits Ibiza TDI, but then again presumption is the mother of all f*** ups.

I already have mine lowered 40mm, but I would prefer a kit especially made for that VW-platform.

The SEAT-Sport kit isnt adjustable, its fixed damper rating. The dampers are made by Sachs and though they will fit im not sure if its suitable, Eibach for example list different springs and dampers for the Ibiza and the Fabia.

Having said that ive got Ibiza Koni dampers on my Fabia and they are just fine, but they are adjustable.

And the SEAT-Sport kit is naffing expensive.

I do believe you're wrong but maybe the kit varies from country to country:

At www.seat.com the part number is 6L0071690, but there is no info on the kit though.

But if I enter Seat-shop (online-shop) in my country (Denmark), then they state that the dampers are hight-adjustable from Bilstein and the springs are Eibach.

The thing is, there is no part number for the kit in the shop, so it's impossible to see if the two kits are identical. But then again, why would Seat go through the trouble of having to test and approve several kits for the same car.

BTW: The kit is 840 EUR on http://shop.seat.dk

I know danish will be rubbish to most of you, but mark the two words: Bilstein and Eibach :D on the page.

Well its a different SEAT-Sport kit than we get over here. Ive fitted a few UK spec kits (I used to work at a SEAT dealer btw) and they were non adjustable dampers made by Sachs (changed from Billsteins on early kits) and Eibach springs.

As far as I know a coil over kit isnt/wasnt available in the UK.

I guess you're right then, there are different versions out there

I am getting concerned about one issue though, the kit I am looking at is for Ibiza +2002, but there is another kit for Ibiza -2002, so which of the two share platform with Furby???

-And howcome there is absolutely no information availible about base-sharing within the VAG-group on the internet? -It could be so helpfull if someone had made a comparison chart of part sharing within the VAG-models.

I know it's a big company secret, but somebody must have the information availible.
