Just bought myself a Yeti

Featured Replies

I remember seeing a Yeti just after they came out and thinking it looked rather fine. N years on and, having just got my licence back again after 16 months without it (I have epilepsy) ,I thought I'd treat us to a new (to us) car. We test drove a 2010 Ford Kuga and a Skoda Yeti. I could hardly fit in the Kuga (I'm 6'4" tall) but the Skoda was lovely. Bloody fast too (we suspect it was chipped) but it was expensive for its age so we started looking around. We drove four more, rejecting the lower powered diesel as it seemed a tad gutless and in the end it came down to two 2016 150 SE 4x4s and, in the end, to both of our surprise, we went for the auto box rather than the manual. So meet Zebedee, our new 66 plate Yet Outdoori.

It's SE Business trim which largely seems to mean it's an SE with few tweaks, mainly a DAB radio.

I'm still building up my confidence after 16 months off the road and it's also a good number of years since I've driven an automatic. The last was my trusty 3.9V8 Range Rover but that auto box was very primitive compared to the smart six speed box Skoda are using now which makes it all much too easy.

The Yeti is also a bit of a shock to both of us in terms of tech toys as our other vehicle is a Fiat Ducato based camper van where "high" tech stops at electric windows and door mirrors and before that we were a Land Rover family for many years where the tech was pretty lacking. So having a vehicle where I can control the radio and answer the phone from the steering wheel is quite revolutionary.

Hello Paul :hi:

Welcome to the revolution!
