It's not so good with the sound on TBH.

The 'knock sensor' that he disconnects is the cam sensor, and the 'coolant temperature sensor' that he disconnects must be the oil pressure switch judging by where his hand went.

No need for any copper grease on spark plugs or the rubber seal of the TB connection. If spark plugs are difficult to remove, the reason tends to be that the last installation failed to seal, and let combustion gases leak up the threads and out; likely due to grit on the sealing face of the head causing the plug washer to not bed down properly. Adding copper grease won't solve this if the grit is still there.

So would you not advise to do it the youtube guys way? What are the complications of removing the cam sensor?

He doesn't remove any sensors, he just disconnects the wiring loom from them. This then gives enough slack in the loom to allow that whole tray with coilpacks to lift up and out.

Just be careful not to strain any wiring, whichever method you choose.

Alright cheers. Just wanted to check if there was any complications with disconnecting them. Thanks for the help, really appreciate it.

NGK (OE supplier for Škoda) says: never grease thread on spark plugs; if grease will be needed- it will be already present on new part (for example, on lambda sensor). Concernig tightening: tried Nm method and by-hand+angle method. Like 2nd more because with Nm method feels like it’s overtightened. An yes, my Nm tool is correct :-D

I did mine about 2 months ago what I did was

1. Warm the engine not to hot just a nice warm meta engine

2. lightly wd40 the area Around the glow plug

3. I first slowly tightened the glow glug only a little. then slowly un tightened keep doing this till you can freely twist it with your fingers repeat for all other 3

ps be very careful if you snap one and get stuck it’s not cheap to fix

^ This thread isn't about glow plugs though. It's about petrol engine coil packs and spark plugs.
