Is using Carista really that easy..............

Featured Replies

I'm wanting to alter/add some settings on my 245 ( 19 Plate ).  I've been reading, watching videos and it looks so simple. I'm not very technically minded and would prefer to pay for this work to be done but I'm thinking of buying Carister and the Subscription.

Is it just a case of pressing the " Enable " button on the App to make things work.  Does Carista work on MY19 spec cars.?

The settings Im after are :-  TSR, HBA, Cornering Fogs,  Fan speed on Auto, Enable the N/side rear Fog light,

Is there a list of settings that Carista can Enable?  Can anyone do this work for me please, Beer/wine tokens available.

Thanks

Carista really is that easy. I used it with a cheap off-the-shelf OBD adaptor and it worked perfectly. If you buy their adaptor you get subscription for a time built-in. As to what it can do depends on the vehicle. It can certainly do many things and all are reversible if you don't want to keep them. Having said that, I got the cornering fogs, fan speed on auto and nearside foglight  sorted by fellow members with VCDS, but that was before I discovered Carista. I volunteered to be part of their test program and they enabled me to use it for a month for free, as long as I reported results back to them. Nothing sinister happened to my car during that time!

@Gizmo   Thanks for the heads up.

Worked fine for me on my 2018 Karoq Edition.  The customisations I did were activate the gauge needle sweeps, audible beeps on locking/unlocking, increase the coldness of the air conditioning (from 8.3º to 6.3º), turn on cornering fog lights, show fan speed on Climatronic when on Auto, and deactivate the auto start/stop system. Went for a long drive today and aircon much cooler and everything working fine. For £16 with a one-month trial Carista is a no-brainer.

What else have people been activating or modufying on their cars with Carista? I'd love to activate the rear fog light when in reverse and brighten up the DRLs  but I can't yet see an option for these on my Karoq.

I'd ignore that guy he never did back up his claims and just wanted people to pay him to do stuff.

The same horror stories used to appear from time to time about VCDS!

I remember that my local VW dealer's tech tried to appear raging and seriously annoyed when I got a 2002 VW Polo back still with logged faults and that they claimed that checking/reporting then clearing any logged faults would be included in a proper VW service, which is another reason why to use "us" - he claimed that to be able to check for all logged faults, I would need to buy the proper gold plated version of VCDS which retails officially at over £4K - that was back in roughly 2003, I s******ed/sneered and asked to speak to the service manager - he apologised and offered to book the car back in FOC, but that would have only added to our inconvenience so we parted company for the last time - until my wife bought a new Polo in 2015! Plenty staff changes probably over that intervening period so no more mention of that, except they usually mistrusted my findings during warranty so when handing the car in I tended to get phone calls asking "can you tell us why this car has been booked in" - usual level of customer service, you can't teach the VW Group old dogs new tricks.
