Rear View Camera....again!

Featured Replies

mine Karoq is same

They should all be like this, the camera angle is tailored to ensure that if you have a towbar fitted you can get a view of the towball. To do this the side-effect is a little bit of the bumper / bootlid / number plate in the view too.

I find its perfect for hooking up - I can place the car in exactly the right place and be hooked up before my wife has returned from the loo. Saves a a lot of aggro!

I have the same problem with my Karoq. The car is apprx 18 months old and this was just started.

Any ideas how to fix this? I am wondering if some moisture has got to the lens and has changed the angle of view??

Anyone managed to get the camera back to the normal view, mine gone like the op's after a factory reset and I don't like it, may have to take it to the dealer to sort unless someone on here has a fix.

Happened to me today. All of a sudden the number plate is appearing in the field of view.

Bizarre.

I have this occasionally and I think it’s when reverse is selected before the infotainment screen has fully started up.

You can switch camera to show 'normal' view, or 'towbar' view, or a view that expands the sideways view, meant to assist you when reversing out of a parking space, so maybe that is the issue ...

Interesting - I noticed I could see more of the number plate on ours a while ago but thought i was going mad, then recently the number place became even more obvious to the extent that I assumed it must have warped.

But it hasn't, so no idea what's going on. Could be connected to selecting reverse too early. The car does sometimes say the camera isn't available - that can happen at both start and end of journeys. There's no alternate view option on our car.

With the car in reverse and camera showing you should see 3 small icons on the right hand side of the camera screen. They allow you to select the different views.

Mine is the same as the one in the first post - I don't believe there's any option to select another view.

Must only be on newer models then.
