Is it "just me" or is light-up bling on an EV the worst idea...?

  • It's the worst idea. It's like tasteless chrome additions on cars that doesn't need it.

No I think the worst idea is the latest spaced boot lettering

I honestly think Ford's current boot letter-spacing is a lot worse.. as is their current focus shape inspired by the same "collapsed couch" look the first 1 series was designed around, but the focus has taken extra inspiration from the world of "punctured bike tyre" imo.

Anyway, thats fairly off topic...

Great that they have one small ev, and i believe a superb ev.

Scala ev??? Be ideal next car for swmbo..

A Superb Plug in Hybrid waste of car charging space is what they will have is it not.

At least with the reliable 1.4TSI (Turbo and no ACT)

Yup, its a hybrid, but at least its half a step...

Unless they do 80 miles for a gallon of petrol they are a con.

If you can get 50 + miles without the engine running then maybe less so, but VW / Skoda gad them nearly ready to produce and Governments like in the UK can see they are a con and not green.

Very nice and with an 80 kwh battery be good with up to 125 kwh charging.

Price though.  Countries need to lower VAT to zero or 5% to promote sales.

Unfortunately right now countries will need growth but they need to recover revenues. Maybe Electric car stepped allowances, maybe for better performance.

But they also want to promote a "green recovery" so will need offer better incentives if that is going to be affordable for all those whose incomes have been hit.

But the UK has had a government that has a record of failure on growth over the last decade and what seems to be needed is a scrappage scheme of diesels for EVs of the order of 5k and on fair interest rates ie 5% apr or so.

@lol-lol The EV interest free loan for private buyers up to £35,000 for 6 years is still available in Scotland.

Help for businesses buying Electric Goods vehicles as well.
