auto box oil

Featured Replies

Hi, just changed the oil in Fabia mk 1 Automatic. No drain plug, so I dropped the sump. Takes 4.5 litres of Dextron 2. Very slow to fill but worth the effort.

Absolutely, auto boxes need oil changes, unlike manuals.

Wrong. Skoda says it is mandatory to change the gearbox oil every 2 years in my car.

Is yours an auto or a manual gearbox?

For somebody having over 7000 replies I would expect you to know that ALL Skoda Felicias have manual gearbox...

According to the haynes manual the auto box on a Fabia is filled for life the filler neck has a seal on it that needs to be broken just to top it up, no mention of quantity reqd. Just thought it may help someone if they wanted to change the oil in their auto box.

Bold indicates why there is no mention of quantity.
