Warranty Question

Featured Replies

Before I go ahead and fit front and rear anti roll bars and a front strut brace to my furby, does anybody know if Skoda consider this to be invalidating the warranty:confused:

Depends on how sympathetic your dealer is, some do some don't. A little research along with some discreet enquiries seem to be the order of the day.

well my dealer replaced the drivers side spring top mount anti roll bar droplink and something else i cant remember under warranty.

They didnt even mention the shiny red strut brace which the woulda had to undo the bolts that go through it so they musta seen it.

I asked my dealer about mods invalidating warrenty when I picked up my new vrs. He put it in basic simple terms and said that anything your modification touches/attaches to will not be covered.

techincally they could refuse warranty yes. but they tend to just not cover the part where the modification has been made.

e.g. remap will invalidate engine & drivetrain.

Thats the response i was expecting and didnt get.

they didnt even mention the strut brace and its fairly unavoidable when changing a front spring etc.

that to me has remap written all over it. only thing it touches/ attaches to is your OBD port

Thank you all very much, only had the car for a week and you've all been helpful already. Don't get your hopes up that I can return the favour but I'll try when I can
