Has it had the door carrier seals treatment?

OK. Both front and rear need doing or they will definitely leak.

Also check that the scuttle drains properly and isn't filling with rainwater.

Where is the scuttle on the car?

Between the bonnet and the windscreen, where the wipers are.

Iโ€™ve just done both back doors with sealant, whilst watching the video. Hope that it sealed.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ย

Keep an eye on the rubber seals at the bottom of the doorways as you open any door after rainfall.ย  Little tiny puddles on the horizontal bit of the seal = door carrier still leaking;

no puddles = happiness.

Any reason for just doing the rear doors?

That's what I was thinking too. The fronts also leak.

Rear door leaks are a very common problem with the Fabia (mine did it).ย  If you had done a search before you posted you will have found this very useful and long thread. Useful Topics - Warning Fabiaย Door Leaksย  The thread was started in 2003, so not a new issue! :oย  There is a video in there (posted above) which is useful and looks like you've followed it. I hope it cures the problem.

R.I.P. Cute young kittens!

Jim- sometimes the useful topic means little to newbies. Still better asking, he could be carrying kittens in rear foot well. ๐Ÿ˜

If you didn't know, it is said on here, a kitten is killed every time a user posts a topic without using the search button (or looking in usefull topics)!!ย  I must admit, I've done it once or twice.

I know about the saying. I likewise have been guilty. PROLEM is that search engines don't take kittens lives into account.

If you take Schrodingers kitten, put it in a shoe box and stamp on it, when you open the box you'll find the kitten is always dead.

Quantum mechanics certainly is amazing.

Might be nice, but despite the fact that kittens always grow up to be cats ,and round here we get cats who's owners don't put out litter trays and those of us with flower beds get dug up gardens, I'm an animal lover and my cure for cats in garden is always a lot of water, or a dog, who can't chase cats beyond fence.

What a crap design these cars are eh. great cars to drive good engines but a useless waterseal to keep out the rain. i have recently had a very old skoda fabia 04 and its rains in in several places. can.t get at it yet as the weather is so bad.ย  did you sort your 06 fabia out or got rid of it since 2019. ?ย  on mine its both the door seals and the part under the skuttle cover below the windscreen where it gets in.ย  i taped up the 3 windows but left the drivers one free to be opened. because a lot of water does get down the actual windows down into the doors. the seals do perish over time as the window winders are used a lot on the rear doors and the elec winders on the front doors. a real crap design really and i.m amazed people withย  much newer fabia.s still have this problem. grrrrrrr a lot of work to do when i can get at itย  ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜

Water is supposed to run down inside the doors and drain out of the bottom onto the sills, most cars are like this because you cannot seal the window against water ingress where it winds down.

ย

Not everyone has a problem, my 2.0 Fabia does not wet the carpets or leak and it was built in 2001, some cars do leak but it's pretty easy to fix it permanently using a sealant on the window carrier.

There is a crap piece of design involved especially on the back doors, but it's not the seals.

It's the brackets that allow the locks to come out with the assembly carriers (and back in). They actively divert water onto these carriers that would otherwise drip down the middle of the door harmlessly without challenging the carrier seal.ย  You will see watermarks like this on any carrier that is removed, much more so on the rear doors as the quarterlight helps channel it exactly onto the bracket.

I do know that. i taped them up to see if it was there that the leak was or whether it was getting in the actual door seals.ย  like you say some cars do leak and some don.t regardless of age.ย  this one i have is obviously going to be a bit of a nuisance.ย  ย
