Fabia mk 1 front coil springs

Featured Replies

I have just had my front coil springs replaced with kyb k-flex springs(broken spring)...now the car sits lower and seems quite bouncy!....apart from the genuine Skoda ones which would you suggest...car is fabia 1.9tdi estate.

I fitted four Kilen branded ones on mine and it's exactly the same as OEM. Seems odd that the KYB ones have made your car lower.

The only explanation I can think of is that you have fitted KYB springs for a VRS which is obviously lowered as standard, unless you have the KYB part number available it's hard to see how you can get to the bottom of this.

I looked at the part number on the boxes and it stated the springs were for the standard 1.9 diesel.

I doubt the vRS springs would lower a non vRS anyhow.

I assume everything is fitted up correctly?

I'm thinking of replacing my springs front and rear, now do i get one's from my tps trade account or aftermarket?

I used to like the Swedish car parts springs as they do all their own work and GSF used to stock them, I can't remember the brand name tho!

For cheapness, if you are not too bothered, just buy a set of Sachs springs from ECP on one of their "better" deals?

Edit:- https://www.lesjoforsab.com/spring-company/lesjofors-sweden.asp           that is the Sweden based spring manufacturer.

I bought a pair of continental direct springs for the standard 1.9 TDI and found after fitting only one the car sat level and were the same on both sides.

Nice detail  The only thing different I do is to crack the strut top nut while it's still on the car as it makes it slightly easier once the strut is off. A 21mm spark plug socket with a spanner used on the outer flats and an allen key down the centre works great for this.
