1 min rough idling

Featured Replies

1.6 tdi 2013 83000miles

has anyone experienced rough idling on a cold start for like 1 minute?

If I rev it up a few times or drive it straight away then It doesn't it at all.

took it to skoda and asked them to run it cold in the morning but they said they can't find anything. I have no codes or any other issues.

That’s perfectly normal don’t worry. First thing in a morning mine sits cushy just over 1k rpm then drops back down to the 700 mark after a minute. It’s like the old school chokes on cars.

No, I’ve got a mk2 Fabia vRS. I believe most of the Skoda’s are the same. My old mans mk3 octavia 1.6tdi does this too.

Just make sure the cold start light goes off, prior to trying to turn the engine on (Pre heater) Then do as you said, drive off immediately. This is preferential anyway!
