Yeti flat boot

Featured Replies

Having checked in the boot yesterday I realise (don't ask why it took so long to check - all know what is said about assumptions...) that I have a car with the flat boot (no space for a spare wheel of any kind) which is a tad annoying as the only thing I have against the Yeti is the lack of storage...
Is there anyway in which a relatively cack-handed man like myself can raise the floor level of the boot so as to neatly provide some extra storage?
Cheers :)

Not sure if you can post fit the adjustable height boot floor available as an option when car is ordered new. Enables you to adjust the space in the boot easily from maximum boot space to flat floor level with hatch opening, or part full depth part level. I love it's flexibility.

I bought the variable boot floor on ebay and fitted it myself. It was relatively easy to fit, just a bit tight so I used a rubber mallet to tap it into place.

The part number is DAA630001. If you google that you may find one for sale somewhere.

Thank you for this. Gives me something to search for :)

You do realise that with the raised boot floor the bag hooks are unusable.

Not unusable, it's just that bags don't actually hang from them, in the sense that the hooks take their weight.  IME they are still quite handy to stop reusable supermarket bags from toppling over if you don't have enough to fill the width of the boot*.  You hook the handle furthest from the side of the boot across the top of the bag and on to a hook.  Sorted.

* The other solution, of course, is to buy more wine.

Here's one, if your willing to pay £200 (mine was £150 but it was sold as damaged even though it wasn't anything noticeable)

Thank you again :) Will have to wait to do this (I'm having front parking sensors fitted at the end of the month...); but it is good to know this is a viable option.

I don't need a lot of encouragement for that :D

The user manual suggests that you can fold the flaps in order to use the hooks....

Nope not for the variable boot floor we're discussing here

I use the hooks all the time, stops the shopping bags from moving around even though they don't hang as such

I use mine with bungee cords round the rails for securing various loads. The hooks act as stops to prevent the cords sliding from end to end on the rails.

It's true that the variable floor doesn't fold that way, it's only the raised floor that comes as part of the spare wheel kit that folds that way (which might be an option for mustrum as a spare was mentioned - note that there isn't space under the raised floor for a spare wheel; the heights of the raised floor shown above and the spare wheel raised floor are different).

The variable floor does concertina forward when the boot is empty (yeah, right) meaning the bag hooks could be used as intended.

True, but not much help if the storage boxes are already full of stuff, though!

In all honesty, I wouldn't be that worried about the bag hooks, but I can see myself creating some kind of divider for the space within the variable floor - if nothing else to keep 'stuff' from rattling around too much :)

Variable boot floor folds back so that front half is full depth and hangers work as designed. Alternatively you could fold the whole floor up to allow full use of boot depth and hangers. Very flexible system.
