Different trim levels UK and Norway

Featured Replies

Pardon my english.

I have just ordered a Kodiaq, and I like to search the forums for information about Kodiaq.

The trim levels in Norway are:

Ambition

Style

Laurint & Klement

Sport Line

Scout

RS

This differ from the levels in UK.

Our Ambition is not the same as your SE. I thought it was, but it is not.

I will try to explaine some differenses.

Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) is standard on L&K and RS in Norway. It is an option on every trim level. It is not an option on SE in UK.

Heated steeringweel is standard in all but Ambition.

Rear seat backrest release  is standard in all but Ambition.

Waste bin in door panel  is standard in all but Ambition.

Front and rear parking sensors is standard in all but not in front of Ambition.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is standard in all.

Lane assist  is standard in all but Ambition

Blind spot detection is standard in all.

High beam assist is standard in all.

Driver alert with fatigue sensor is standard in all.

Heated washer nozzles for front window is standard in all.

Also in every Norwegian trim levels:

9 airbags, ASR, ESC, DSR, TSA, EBP, MSR, deactivating airbag in front seat, tyre controll, front assist City safe, hill hold, Crew protection assist, XDS+,

I have ordered 2.0L 190 TSI DSG 4x4 Style (trim level) 5 seater Lava Blue (Petrol Blue in UK)

Style is almost the same as Edition.

However Style has the following as standard, and Edition has not:

Three spoke leather heated multifunction steering wheel

Rear seat backrest release

Waste bin in door panel

LED interior light pack

Front and rear parking sensors.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Driver alert with fatigue sensor

Driver assistance package

Heated washer nozzles

Crew protection assist and rear side airbags

Alcantara seats

Does the Edition have:

230V, 12V and USB for the backseat? Style has.

Able to use CarPlay by Apple? Style does.

The Edition has this as standard, and Style has not:

19 inc alloy - Style has 18 inc

Electrically adjustable front seats with memory function - Style has just for the driver. With an option for passanger.

Columbus...? Style has Amundsen

My chosen options are:

Tri-zone climate control

Parking heater. Runs on gasolin and are able to pre-heat the engine and cupé before you enter the car. It will also defrost the windows.

Traffic sign recognition

Virtual cockpit

Canton

Tablet holder

Heated rear seats

Electrically operated boot with Kick activation (Virtual Pedal)

Rear view camera with washer nozzle

Electrically folding tow bar with adaptor

I do hope to get my car in the end of august.

I forgot to say that my car cost over £ 57500,-

NOK: 630000,-

Wow... are there very high taxes on cars in Norway? Or is this what we have to look forward to once the stupid party pull us out of the EU??

unbelievably  high taxes...

Taxes, taxes, taxes.

Norway is probably the only country in the world, where second hand car costs more than new one somewhere else.

Yes. That could be thruth. A little off topic...  But we also earn more money.

UK and Scandinavian trims are totally different. They have SEL etc, we have Style, Ambition etc.

We have auxiliary heater onboard as standard on diesels, they even cannot option that.

The list gos on and on.

I tried to configure a similar Kodiaq from Edition on the Skoda site in UK. It is £40,060. And it is still something as auxiliary heater that I could not get.

The price might end up at £41.300,- if I did get all the small options....?

On a side note, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands has pretty high taxes and oh yes, google Singapore and grab the popcorn. Only country in the world where the cheapest VW Touareg starts at 167 000 GBP.

This thread is a good laugh. In NZ £33k for a 180PS TSI (NZ doesn’t get the 190PS TSI yet) Sportline. Comes with everything bar sunroof, towbar, heated windscreen, family pack/sleep pack or digital instrument panel.

Does anyone know?

As pointed out by you, the UK trim has different naming conventions to the rest of Europe (and the specs then vary within those countries).

Could be wrong, but I don't think the UK has the 230v or the 12v for the rear seats, and neither does Ireland, may be a continental Europe thing. There is a 12v in the boot and dual USB in Ambition/ SE upwards in UK and Ireland. CarPlay also.

Seems to be fantastic value in the UK too. I'm happy with my arrangement, but there's a reason Irish people buy in the UK and import. It's even more attractive as the Euro nears parity.

No 230v outlet, but it does have the 12v outlet in the backseat. Also has Apple carplay and android auto via the USB in the "phone box". Based on my 2018 Edition.

Just to add, my SE came with the backseat 12v outlet, which was a nice surprise.  I did get rear heated seats, so guessing that is what determines this?

All UK spec Kodiaq's get the rear seat 12V socket (as well as one in the front ash tray and a another in the boot).

Not to be confused with the 230V socket, that is only available in mainland Europe and beyond...

Do all spec levels have the air vents for the rear seats?

Yes, they do.

Ah excellent thanks - wasn’t sure if it’s missed that off by not speccing tri zone climate control.

Is the difference between dual and tri zone the areas you can control independently then, rather than the actual presences of the vents themselves?

Yes, that is correct.

Tri-Zone allows you to adjust the temperature of the central rear seat vents independently from both the driver and front seat passenger.

There are two vents in the rear, one for each passenger. On Tri-Zone equipped cars, both rear sent vents operate at the same temperature.

On dual-zone equipped Kodiaq's these two rear vents are also separately controlled, the rear passenger vent is fed air at the same temperature set by the front seat passenger, the same applies for the rear drivers side passenger, their vent is set to the same temperature as the driver.

Perfect explanation - thanks!
